That's what I've been wondering. The one in his office may have been disabled (wherever it was) but what about all the other ones?
Depends on the logic behind the vita chambers: how would they work in, for example, a movie?
I suppose you could provide a believable resolution to the problem by having the character make his way to the vita chamber after being mortally wounded, and then the vita chamber somehow rapidly rebuilds his cells. In fact that's probably how they would do that, considering plasmids rewrite your genetic code in a very short period of time.
So, I can assume Jack, who is spliced up like mad, can get wounded and make his way to a vita chamber, where his DNA checks out.
Ryan on the other hand, wasn't spliced up, and gets beaten to death before your eyes, so clearly he doesn't have the strength and abilities Jack has.

How would his body "move" to the vita chamber to revive? How do WE get to the vita chamber to revive? I believe he could come back with the vita chamber, I for one turned it on. Just because I could.

One plasmid does not just instantly splice you, am I right?
Maybe it's related to range? Maybe only one can work at a time. As soon as you pass one the previous one deactivates.

Also, according to the Bioshock Wiki, the Vita Chamber in Ryan's office was shut off, and can be reactivated by the player. Clearly Ryan made the choice not to be healed, to prove his point about Jack's inhumanity (ie. his lack of free will).

you go to the closest vita chamber when u respawn so when ryan couldnt go to the closest one because part of the plot is that he realizes jack is his son and wants to teach him a lesson with his own life he disables the vita chamber in his office not wanting to be revived come on guys pay a****intention

Ryan shut off the Vita Chambers in his office. The chambers must have some kind of range which makes sense. If you think about it, if you die in let say Hephaestus (sp?) you dont spawn back in Arcadia right?
Right. You spawn back to the one you previously went by. So if you die in Hephaestus, (btw, sp. was ok.) and the last one you walked by was in Mecial pavilion, you'll go back to Medical Pavilion. Get what I'm saying?

Haven't seen Snatch but I HAVE seen Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, which I think are sort of similar. If I'm correct, Snatch was released just before Ritchie's marriage to Madonna and the decline in his movies. From what I've heard it's a great movie, so I guess it would be his last great film.
