Try uninstalling the drive and rebooting. May need to update firmware for your DVD drive. Try the disc in another PC if you can, it may be defective.

yah...the DVD may be defective, or your DVD-Drive may be malfunctioning...check out the laser-eye, or reinstall your hardware properly if need be

Get a refund asap. The game will probably crash left and right on you if you ever get it running anyhow.

Can you post up the make and model of your DVD drive, and firmware version if you can get it? BioShock comes on a Dual Layer DVD and your drive might just need a firmware update to read it properly (just a guess for now) but drive details would help troubleshoot.

Edit: also post if you know whether it's a SATA or IDE drive.

Other software such as CloneCD or CloneDVD may also be the culprit. Also, just not having programs such as Alcohol120 and Daemon Tools running may not be enough, you may have to uninstall them.

Got to agree with the previous post, nothing obvious that I can find in the firmware updates that apply to the problem you have.

I'll do some more digging around anyway and post if anything comes up.

Yeah, that's your best bet. They'll test it there and if it doesn't work, they'll give you a new box.

  17. Hi m8 check to see which drive is your system booting from, your drive may need set so it can boot up the disc.i have had this prob and i had to go into windows start up to make sure the drive was on boot.
