    Brass Balls acheivement

I completed BioShock again today, after a while of being away from it. I started the playthrough (the playthrough that I completed today) before the BioShock update was released, the one that adds the "Brass Balls" acheivement. I am 100% sure that I did this playthrough without using a single Vita Chamber, either before or after the update. The achievement did not unlock. Should it have?

    Cheers

You can do it without disabling.

You know you have to beat it on hard, right? if you didn't beat it on hard with no vita chambers, you don't get it.

On hard, all the way through. I think it might be a glitch.

    Yep same here

Yeah I downloaded the patch and no option came up for turning off the chambers but i read you just dont you use them. So put it on hard played with the new content saved and didnt use the chambers and low and behold no Bass Balls when I finished. It sucks.

The exact same thing just happened to me and it is the reason why I just joined up. I played the whole game through on hard and every time I died I just reverted back to my last save and when I finally finished the game I had no brass balls achievement. I am so pissed off. Sure playing the game on hard is fun espcially when trying to avoid using vita chambers but I just can't bring myself to do it all over again.

    Made it work

Ah science be praised I made it work. I decided to replay Fontaine then turn the vita chambers off in the options menu. Then after beating him I finally got it. Perhaps you should play Fontaine again Omega_ryan (if you still have the saved game at that point) and turn the vita chambers off in the in game options.

If you don't have the option to disable vita-chambers, then you probably don't have the DLC properly installed. A lot of people were having that problem. I didn't have that stuff after the auto-update, but I grabbed the DLC from the marketplace, and suddenly everything worked.

Once you can see the vita-chamber option, along with the new plasmids and tonics, you will probably be able to get the achievement after loading your Fontaine save and beating him again.
