Need save games... + a stupid Q...

Hi, Im new around here and I'll give my 2 (i'd give 3++++ if I had more) thumbs up as this game ROCKS!!!
THE GRAHPICS...
THE GAMEPLAY...
THE STORY...

Anyways about my problem... I'm currently stuck at the "Medical Pavillion" level as I can't "USE"(ive been hitting E like mad and nothing happens) the switch to open the gates to the "Neptune thingy"?
I was wondering as do I need to collect all audio diaries? or for a probably easier solution... give me a save RIGHT AT THE START OF THE NEXT Level or just when you opened the gate thingy.

That is one weird bug...

What kind of keyboard are you using?

And... so it doesn't crash?, you just can't "use" things?

Have you tried going into keybaord options and setting it to another button/checking that it's set to E???

Done them all... still won't work...

So... wait, could you even pick up plasmids and search trash cans?

Or is it just that you can't USE the bathyspheres?

Oh and type of keyboard + OS?

Wait... is this some lever where you turn off the power etc. etc. bit?

Sorry i played bioshock a while ago and forgot exactly how you get to the next level post-medical pavillion...

Maybe you're just missing something that you're meant to be doing in-game... like turning the power back on/off or something?

My pc is just fine (P.S. I could pick up stuff otherwise im dead without a shotgun,pistol and stuff)
I JUST COULDN't DARN OPEN THE GATE!!

It even appeared as "Goal" already on the map and hint button confirms it also.

Do you mean gate as in bathysphere?

If not you might be missing something in-game. i.e. this might not be a technical issue.

Yeah, this sounds like a gameplay thing. Get a Walkthrough or turn on the Quest Arrow for God's sake.

As I've said, everything possible is done, e.g.
1. Check keyboard
2. keybuttons
3. Done everything possible
4. The emergency access control is already a "goal"

Yep, the bathysphere to the neptune place (as said by some walkthrough)

Maybe its the part where he needs to get the key from Steinman to go through that door. Go look for Doctor Steinman hes somewhere in medical pavillion, hes talking to himself, saying all kind of wierd stuff, then he'll notice you and go like, whos this person or something ugly, ugly, ugly1! thats the part where you need to kill him. get the key and try to go through the door again.

Done that... DAMN IT I REPLAYED THE WHOLE THING STILL WON'T OPEN!! ARGHHH!! JUST HAND ME A SAVE FILE PLEASE!!! THIS SOO SUCKS!!!! BIOSHOCK.... NEED MORE BIOSHOCK MAPS..... MUST RESCUE LITTLE SISTERS....... MUST PWN MORE BIG DADDIES WITH WRENCH!!

(Even though it was quite far from the beginning, it's better than nothing right?)
