    Thumbs up Playstation 3

Bioshock should most definitly be on the PS3! The PS3 is like 10 times more powerfull and worthy then the Xbox 360, plus if they were to add any online features, it would be free instead of having to pay for stupid Xbox live. The graphics would be clearer and the controls alot easier. PS3 would be the way to go!

I'm not saying that it shouldn't be on Xbox either, but PS3 deserves it more.

    a) No it doesn't
    b) As Bioshock is single-player only, you don't need Xbox Live Gold for anything online, and Xbox Live Silver is also free
    c) It isn't 10x more powerful, at most it is 2x as powerful
    d) Extra platform = more time = delays
    e) Controls would be almost identical, as the controllers differ only in the placement of the left joystick and the d-pad
    f) The only significant difference in controls would be if they tacked on motion sensing
    g) The graphics would not be clearer because developers are able to utilize the 360's technology more effectively as it has been around longer
    h) Other than the Blu-Ray technology which (I quote Yosuke Hayashi) "Its just more space", the PS3 has no redeeming values for it over the 360

yes, thead should be locked or merged with the others, but I am going to say what I said in those threads, so allow me to quote myself.

Vevobug: you are aware that ☺☺☺☺☺ing and 360 bashing is not going to magically change any contracts Irrational/2K have with microsoft? Its just not going to happen until those contracts expire.

firstly, deserves has nothing to do with it. secondly, is that the reason the only good exclusive game it has is Resistance?

so Locke, have some dignity and drop it.

Bottom line is the PS3 will be 99% under utilized as programming for multi-core systems is still in it's infancy and especially without cache to back them up, the PS3 is poorly designed for games.

didnt sony claim the ps3 is a computer? The ps3 struck me as being the hardware equivalent of bloatware.

THat is not true. Currently the 360's capabilities are better utilized. In fact, the PS3 version would probably look inferior, unless it was developed a year or two from now. Also the PS3 does not "deserve" anything, Sony has screwed up major league with losing most of their exclusives. I'm getting a PS3 in the next couple of weeks, so im not a Sony hater, just stating the fact that it isn't that great of a console....YET.

I found a gamasutra article dealing with exclusives, in my opinion it is a lot of talk and not much else but it can be found here

If we look back a few years ago, with the Playstation 2/XBox epic, the PS2 was by far the winner, for no other reason than its library was absolutely unmatched. It had 90% of all the good games.

Today it is quite simply a flip on the previous statement. My best friends, PS2 die-hard fans, just bought a 360 for this very reason. And a grand cross-section of the rather huge titles on the swift horizon are in development for both the 360 and PS3. This does expand Sony's catalog but does noting to grant them that footing of dominance they so fondly remember.

Ok, ok. No need to make this into a flame war or too make people with PS3's feel bad about their purchase. Consoles are so hard to judge nowadays as their success is not judged by hardware or price, but rather their games as noted with the PS2 still out selling every other console on the market.
I'm sure PS3 will find its stride at some point, but at the moment I don't have any interest in owning one.

As for whole graphics thing, I really see little to no difference between the PS3's graphical capabilities and the Xbox 360. In fact it seems that most of the textures in 360 games are more vibrant that that of the PS3's. This may be due to the fact that developers haven't learned how to use the "untapped" power of the PS3. I guess we'll see in the upcoming years.

All jokes aside the PS3 is a great console,Sony just needs more games and to offer a price reduction for both models (20 and 60)

But I think the Wii and 360 will be the winners this generation, with the PS3 not ending up a failure, but just ok...

Sony just needs to get back into it's former groove of game development and developer enticement. They're concentrating far too much on improving the system's core software, which was acceptable from the get go. If they really want to satisfy their customers and draw in more potentials then waiting until after they have a larger library of games to fall back on while upgrading their software.

if I see more games for the ps3, specifically more RPG's (like sony is supposed to be known for) then I would strongly consider investing in a ps3. As has become my motto for this next-gen wave "I buy consoles to play games on".

note: Resistance is a fantastic game and Motorstorm is pretty nifty aswell, but the current library isn't even enough to satiate the most lax of gamers. If resistance was to be taken as a benchmark for future ps3 games then I'd say the console is in good standing.

Give it time, ps3 will come into it's own. The fall will probably be the start-up factor for it.

im a wii owner and proud of it!
sometime the "untapped" power of the ps3 will get tapped, but i reckon it will take longer compared with say, some developer learning how to master the 360's power, simply because the ps3 is harder to develop for (programming-wise) so the developers would take longer to figure out how to make the power to much less untapped?
    if that makes sense.
I don't really get why people care so much if it won't be on ps3.
If those ps3 owners had the ability to buy a ps3 (and probably a tv to go with it), then they most certainly have the ability to buy a computer and play Bx there. Kinda like nindendo decided to exclude dvd functions from their wiis, because they figured, if these people can afford a wii, they probably have a couple of items at home that can play dvds anyway.
in fact, while we're at it, i don't know whether the control scheme will be as good on 360 as it will be on pc (the age-old thumbstick vs mouse argument). unless you have a 360 mouse/keys setup?

that's the end of my rant. im gunna go play some zombie horde now, cyas.

Being a die hard Nintendo Fan Boy, I am inclined to agree with many of the previous posters that a Bioshock release is not something the PS3 dissevers. One of the things that bugs me about Sony fans right now is their seemly complete denial of the fact that Sony has stumble with the release of their new generation consol, and seem to be trying to cover up this fact by dismissing the Wii as a temporary fad, and constantly taunting of how the graphics and technology power of the PS3 will ultimately conquer the 360. This however ignores the fact that we are entering a gaming age where the level of graphics and technology will count for less and less, and things like gameplay, story, and design will be the deciding factors in who wins the console wars. Microsoft and Nintendo both seem to get this point, while Sony seems somewhat lacking. As for Bioshock it’s self, I think there is no consol out there more worthy of this game then the X-Box 360. For me personal the Wii is my favorite consol (dominating the Action/Adventure, Party, Sports, and Wacky/Experimental gaming genres), but the 360 is very close second and is unmatched when it comes Shooter and Role-Playing games.

here this are games how are aviable on both systems (ps3 and 360)

call of duty 3 : xbox 360 version has better textures ,higher resolution and better framereate (60pfs) ps3 has only 45 and big slowdowns

blazing angels: xbox 360 version has better textures much better water effects better light effects and better framerate. if you fly near an exploding airplane on the ps3 the framerate is so bad its like a dia-show this dont happens on the 360 version

Thps project 8: 360 version got better textures and better framerate (framerate is on both systems bad but a little bit badder on ps3, more slowdowns)
and the 360 version has a online mode the ps3 version not

fight night round 3: graphics are same but the 360 version needs only 10 seconds to load a battle ps3 needs 1-2 minutes !!

virtua tennis 3 the ps3 version has a little bit better shadows effects in the tennis arenas but somemtimes there are slowdowns ( reason: the only game how use anti-aliasing on ps3 and it seems that is already too much)
this dont happens on the 360 (60 fps) (and:.. every game has antialiasing on the xbox 360 in PAL and in HD only pgr3
its not so good in this game but its a launch title).

and the online mode is exclusive for xbox 360.

    now;....this speaks for it self:....

The only thing that concerns me about buying a ps3 is that it's said the Blue Ray drive is very slow at loading. Not a big deal ( I played RE: Outbreak without the ps2 HDD, Good god) but it still blows a bit.
