Downloading this file is like ☺☺☺☺ing a prostitute without a condom, it might get you happy or it might give you aids.
I smell a rat.
Give him a chance to explain how and why it should work after extraction.
(btw. I got Windows Seven anyways so no aids for me today.)
A one-post wonder? You want to risk your PC on something from someone with no cred or rep here and who lacks the consideration and smarts to at least introduce himself? Good luck with that, you may need it.![]()

Under Windows XP there are missing few exports from kernel32.dll ( there are available from Vista or above )... So I created sernel32.dll using DLL Spoof method with redirected exports to kernel32.dll and implemented missing functions. At exe I redirected using Hex editor from kernel32.dll to sernel32.dll. It's dirty and nasty hack but It's working.
Which is definitely a clever solution if its on the up and up, but as you should know hooking into something like kernel32 is a basic rootkit behavior as well and even if legitimate can cause some serious potential stability issues for the entire computer, and if not legitimate you have a rootkit.
But this sort of DLL Spoof is affecting only demo of X-COM... Not all system.
Okay, someone with XP, sacrifice your computer for this!
Hacks for the hacks god! Machines for machine throne!
I wouldn't trust it unless you have a XP vm you can burn down after it infects you.

It's dirty hack so several antivirus software could detect modifications as dangerous. In my opinion this hack is safe. sernel32.dll is dll spoof with added microsoft library from SDK. Exe file is only modified in one byte ( replaced "kernel32.dll" with "sernel32.dll" ).
well I checked it out - that thing kinda works, but I think it is missing something - game crashes upon selecting new game
Are You using Steam version of demo? Yesterday I finished demo version at my XP computer.
I have been told by the professionals that this is a virus. Locking thread and deleting links.
