Bioshock.exe stopped working.

I installed the game (after other problems has been solved with the patch)
I run it via the dvd/play. The letters bioshock appear and then my pc says:
"Bioshock.exe werkt niet meer" (dutch) (means Bioshock.exe stopped working)
I'm using vista 32bit.
What to do to play this game!?

I get the same problem - the log report is of course in my language instead... :S

When I start the Bioshock Demo from Steam, I get the "Bioshock logo" and then my screen goes black. Then I have to go to the "taskmanager", and the program stops working...

My computer is a Acer TravelMate 5520G
Cpu: AMD Turion64 x2 (1.9Ghz)
Memory: 2GB
Gfx: Ati HD2400 xt (supporting DirectX 10 as I recall)
Operating system: Windows Vista Home Premium

My computer should be fully up to date with newest drivers and all. Vista has been updated recently as well.

Hope someone has a solution to this problem.

In steam right click on the game and choose properties. Then under the general tab choose set launch options. In the text box type -DX9. Then try to run teh game again.

But then it means that I can't run it with Dx10 set?

There are only a few things in the game that use DirectX 10. The game shouldent look that different.
