What race do you play in Elder Scrolls? (Morrowind, Oblivion etc.)

I'm currently playing Oblivion as a Breton (I'm so into my character it's stupid).

    Character details:

    Race:

    Breton

    Birthsign:

    The Mage

    Specialisation:

    Magic

    Attributes:

    Intelligence & Luck

    Major Skills:

Alchemy, Destruction, Illusion, Mercantile, Sneak, Marksman, Light Armor

In case you're going to play Oblivion soon (if you haven't already), there's a cool character configuration tool here: http://www.linklost.com/occ/

In Morrowind, I went Nord. I found fighter skills far more crucial than stealth. In Oblivion, I prefer Khajit. Having night eye from the start is invaluable to me.

When I play Oblivion now, even with a thief character, I never pick security as a skill. Even starting out with it at 5, it is fine to get through the game if you have a good knack at lockpicking.

I rarely use arrows.. Guess its a thing thats stayed with me from Morrowind where they were horrible to use. I know they are better in Oblivion, but I guess I got used to other weapons. (Short) blade is a must for me. I love the weapons you get from the Dark Brotherhood. Though, I also love the glass longsword especially when enchanted.

I actually enjoyed using a mage in Oblivion where I didn't really in Morrowind. Though, I did like levitation, mark and recall. I agree with you on Breton for a mage character.

I find strength and endurance great attributes a lot of the time, strength because of capacity to carry more so than easier to kill enemies, and endurance because it directly effects your health.

I used to use swords but now I prefer single-handed blunt weapons to (war axes, clubs etc.) One-handed because that way you can equip and use a shield (for both the shield perks and the ability to enchant both the blunt weapon and the shield, plus the shield gives you a passive increase to your overall armour score), blunt weapons because they do more damage than swords (if you can live without the extra range).

Bound Daedric or bound Daedric Dagger in the early game is really handy (yes, I know, I don't have Conjuration as a major skill, but I'm planning on power-leveling it).

Power leveling conjration is horrible. I've done conjuration and destruction at the same time, and while destruction progresses well, conjuration takes far longer.

I spent about eighty hours power-leveling another character and it was so boring. My current character is designed so that I can play the way I want to and still power-level (and so that if I get bored of power-leveling I can stop without it screwing up my game).

Conjuration seemed like one of the easiest to level since you just have to equip the spell and keep activating it (not like Marksman (which requires a successful shot for every point)). I guess it must just be slow. Leveling athletics gets ridiculous (it takes forever).

    My 'Strength' figures are:

    Strength: 40

    Blunt: 5

    Blade: 5

    Hand to Hand: 5

...so I should be able to inflate my Strength stat easily enough (my 'Endurance' figures are 30;5,5,5,)

I'm a little late to this thread, but then again, I just got the game a couple of months ago.

I'm playing as a Nord at this point.

However, I have a question, and this seems the most appropriate place to ask... Back in the day, when I played D&D, I had created a character to whom I had become quite attached. Is there an easy way to translate attributes from a tabletop D-20 character to this game?

Obviously, it's not a big deal, as I've already got a character, I'm just curious if others have tried to recreate an old favorite.

Hmm, I've never heard of anything like that... However, you can always create a custom character and manually model him after your D&D character. I modeled a Redguard after my first fighter.

Yeah, That's more or less what I was thinking I'd do...

    Dark Elf

I think my character is probably one of the best. (especially for Dark Brotherhood Faction)

    RACE: DARK ELF MALE
    CLASS: HUNTER (CUSTOM)
    SPECIALTY: STEALTH
    BIRTHSIGN: THIEF
    ATTRIBUTES: LUCK, AGILITY
SKILLS: ATHLETICS, BLADE, DESTRUCTION, LIGHT ARMOR, MARKSMAN, SECURITY, SNEAK

I have always liked Dark Elves and this character is very easy to level up and easy to play with too. I chose to be in the dark brotherhood because I always picture the dark elf race as evil. I have had great success with this character and would recommend it to anybody playing Oblivion.

Redguards are my personal favorite, though. (By the way, I only play Morrowind)
