Horrible pc freeze up caused by taking photos in game!

I am at my wits end, I love playing bioshock but since taking photos of plicers is so essential to advancing in the game, and doing so causes my PC to freeze out after around 3 photos make me want to toss it out my window or atleast return it. Having said that I rather keep it so is there anything I can do to stop this horrible glitch.

Other then that my PC can run it smothly on the games Highest system setting.

Please reply as soon as possible PLEASE!
