Can Anyone Answer This Question ?
I have been playing oblivion for about 5 months now. I bought it new with my elite, and has worked perfectly. A few days ago I got a message that said something like there is a problem with the disc, or the machine can't read the disc. Then the screen went blank. I cleaned the disc put it in and loaded. About 3-4 minutes later the screen went blank again. Now my disc won't load at all, it just stays on the dashboard and says "reading". I went down and rented another copy of oblivion, and another game. Those load and play fine. When the rented copy of oblivion is in, a message says: " This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading?" I have every download available from xbox live. These show up in the memory, but do not appear in the game. I've done the usual things like clearing cache, and system maintenance. Tech support doesn't have the answer. Can someone help ??

Same thing happened with me and I solved it. When you get a message that says "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available. Continue loading?" That is the same message you get if you modded something on PC version. So when I saw that on my 360, I was freaked. Something got screwed up.
I eventually got my disk cleaned and it seemed to work fine. However, I left the game alone for about an hour or two, came back, and found that the disk was not readable. I looked at the disk, and there was a huge scratch on it.
I found out later that there have been claims that some 360s scratch disks. Research later showed that some of the disk drive had no padding where there should be some. Microsoft has denied this, but the evidence is there.
Long story short, send your 360 in for repair. Afterall you have coverage for a year for any problem at all. It didn' take too long for me, only about 3 weeks.
