Two installs for Bioshock appearing in Programs list...

In control panel, there are two bioshock installations showing up. They appear identically in terms of file size(5.8 gigs, I think). The dates are different. It is true that I downloaded the game for a second time to do a reinstall(I have the Steam version).

In Steam, the app is only listed once. When I select the older listing to unistall, windows warns that the app will be deleted. Steam launches as well, displaying only the one app. I'm worried that in trying to remove one of the entries in control panel, that my single installation in steam will be removed.

Short of using the registry to remove the entry, is there any other info on how to remove duplicate entries for bioshock? Or is this something idiotic that Steam does when it installs apps?

Is it possible that you have the steam version of the demo installed for bioshock which may also be providing the same entry in control panel?

If it provides you with an absolute duplicate of the same installation you can try removing one entry with a program called CCleaner.

Nah, I never played the demo. I just read the reviews and noticed that I could download the game. It's not a big deal, really. I was just wondering if anyone else had also experienced this issue.

I'll prolly just wipe it from the registry or use a utility like the one you mentioned.
