Bioshock dvd media problem (with pics)
Hi,
I just bought Bioshock and I noticed a "stain" on the dvd. I don't know if that is normal or if I should exchange the dvd.
Any thoughts?

The stain is not clearly visible, so I edited the picture:

Looks like heat damage to me. I get games like that occaisonally. It's not so much a stain but more of a warping of the data layer of the disk. I would return it even if it does work so you don't run into any issues down the line. I can't imagine any store would refuse you, and it's not worth risking a disk failure later on.

It's probably just some super duper early disc rot. I wouldn't worry about it for about a good 25 years, if you'll even care by then lol

Back in the day I bought a copy of MDK that looked like that. It installed once just fine, but the second time it errored out. After sending it back to the manufacturer I received a new copy in the mail along with a very nice reply explaining that it's a disc binding defect that occurs less than 0.1% of the time, but is nonetheless to be expected in any batch of pressed media. Apparently their quality control section let one slip through and I bought it. (hey, human error, it happens)
Anyway, assuming it's the same problem it should just be an easy manufacturer's defect exchange. You can probably do it at the store you bought it at even; with visual evidence like that it should be pretty obvious to even the most inept and brain-dead of store clerks.

Thanks for the replies.
I will go to the store tomorrow and see if they can exchange it.
