Textures applying slowly when you load a save game.

Has anyone else noticed that when you load a save, the textures take a while to apply? The further I get into the game or maybe it is the longer I stay in the same area and load saves, the longer it seems to take for the detail textures to apply when I load a save. I literally have to wait as long as a minute sometimes for everything to look as it should. I am using the 163.71 nvidia beta drivers. All the nvidia drivers I have used (several), while playing this game have produced the same results.

when I first start up the game it takes me about 15-30 seconds for the full textures to be applied.

It's how the engine was designed. It applies textures last because textures are only applied to the area you're currently in; everywhere else in the level will be textureless until you move into that area.

Thanks to all who have replied to this message. I assumed it was a bug that could possibly be fixed in a future patch or with a new nvidia or DirectX driver. I am very vigilant about downloading the latest drivers. My pc is several years old but I hope it will last for a few more years with a SLI combo of two BFG 7900 GTX cards and two gigs of Corsair system ram with an ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard and all the best extras for its day and age.

This can be fixed easily if a setting for preloading was on, so that we'd still be at the loading screen as it loads the textures.

Sure, loading would take another 5 to 10 seconds, but at least we'd be ready to go when it's done.
