Just wanted to introduce myself. I've been following this game since it's announcement after System Shock 2 and am extremely excited as August isn't too far away.

Hello, I am fan of Deus Ex and of it's spiritual successor Bioshock. It shares that spot with System Shock 1 & 2, but both games are way too expensive for my budget. Or so they are on ebay and so far I haven't find an alternative source. I have little to no internet access, I usually have to depend on the charity of my friends.

Normally I wouldn't go for a forum but I learned about the cool gamerpics you can earn by becoming a cult member. I explained my situation, but I got no reply. It seems I'll have to earn my stripes like the other guys and girls on this board. I do not mind, but I will be no that active like I would like to be and I fear I'll lose the chance to get those nifty gamerpics. But I have a positive attitude, so we'll see what the future holds.

    Nice to meet you all.

Well I guess I might aswell introduce myself (second post, yaaay! Super Duper Member, here I come!)

Well to tell the truth, up untill today I didn't know much about Bioshock. It struck me as a "Mehhh..."-game that I kept a lazy eye on when IGN had slow news-days. I read parts of the Bioshock previews, looked at some screenshots and watched a few vids but as I said, "mehh..." was my general tought when it came to Bioshock. (Never played either of the Systemshock games either)
...I feel this post is taking a turn into the "long-boring-story"-direction so I'll cut it short from here

I got here from the official FO3 forums where I'm knowns a Xenion (a currently "banned-untill-tomorrow" FO1/FO2 fan)

The reason to why I'm here is simple. Some hardcore Fallout-fans mentioned Bioshock in the same sentence as FO and thus realized it would be worth a fair chance. So I went over to IGN, watched the new Plasmid-vids and almost had a hearattack.
The videos reminded me of Fallout (I guess everyone who ever played a FO1/2 know why ) and since the title of the game isn't "Fallout 3" i didn't evne mind the RT-combat and FP-view it actually made alot of sense. (now I know it makes even more sense with regards to Systemshock)

Anyway, I wanted to join the community and see what all the fuss is about, check out what makes "bioshock-fans" tick.

Anyway, I'll bee seeing you guys around

What makes us tick is the hundreds of clocks we have counting the days to bioshock. Oh god, the ticking, THE TICKING!

OK so that was a bit of an overly-fabulous (if you catch my drift ) ending to my introduction.
But AFAIK Bioshock gets released on the 21'th of august and that's not that long of a wait

It doesn't sound like he made that comparison in error. Deus Ex is a predeccessor in some ways, especially in terms of the FPSRPG style gameplay & government conspiracies.

Good to have any number of DX fans. Welcome to our grand cult, KS1987, UK Lad, and Leo for Prez

(I'll assume you are all DX fans, and some of you simply forgot to mention it )

Hi, this is not my first time posting, but hello all. I wish now that I had been a long-time member, but I've been reading up on bioshock, listening to the casts, and plugging it to my friends ever since I first read about it. Glad to be here!

yes... we're all waiting for the game to come.

hey Raveness, maybe if we sacrifice the new members to Cthulhu, we'll be favoured and given free copies of Bioshock.

I registered a few days ago, getting all hyped for the game now that's it's much closer. I can't get enough videos to watch, enough stuff to read about it, it's just one of my most-anticipated games coming up. But ya, I like chocolate.
