Like many on here, my game crashes at a specific turn(495) and becomes impassable. I've tried many methods to correct this...unfortunate occurrence, but to no avail. In addition to the remedies offered on the board and civ fanatics, I've contacted customer support twice by phone(Ticket #118462). They were nice, but the links and suggestions they offered at the time were unfortunately fruitless. If this were not bad enough, I have no ability to choose any video options(they're just blank). I would like to adjust those, maybe turn tessellation off. I read that worked for one individual. Anyways, I've tried the following:
*.1. Open up your config.ini (My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V/)
2. Look for the following line: EnableGameCoreThreading = 1
3. Change it to: EnableGameCoreThreading = 0
*.-Start Steam
-Go to Library
-Right-click your game from the left side
-Click properties
-Go to the Local Files tab
-Click Verify Integrity of Game Cache
-When done Verifying Integrity of Game Cache next Defragment Cache Files.
*. I've also did what the CG suggested by changing MaxSimultaneousThreads = 8 to 4
*I've tried staying in strategic mode.
*. I've loaded a different game then loaded the save right before it hits 495.
*.I've deleted all the db files.
*. I've disabled my motherboards onboard video.
*. crashes in dx9/11
It's very frustrating. I've never played a Civilization game before, I'm hooked and want this to work.I just wrangled control of all but 3 of the uranium on the map, I'm preparing to launch my global offensive. Then BAM! SO, I Formatted, reinstalled Win 7 pro,Civ, updated ALL my drivers, and still no such luck. PLEASE HELP ME!!!Yes I am playing on the world map.
