Smile We need Themes or a demo : )

Hi I'm back So this game was pushed back until next year so why don't they have a theme for Bioshock or a demo yet? They mine a well have the collectors edition out to get people pumped for this game. I mean did you see Halo 4 gameplay! Now that looks epic. This is what I mean they need more videos out to get people pumped for this game again, I know they're busy with the game but we need more videos since they did not go to E3 just saying. : )

Unfortunately I think a demo (an operating limited game) would give away too much of what the game is (the trailers and other materials they already released early may have done that a bit too much - too much detail).

If they delayed to avoid overlapping other games releases -- if they plan to start the heavy promotions it would be sometime after that game market settles (early in the year?) and they can start dumping goodies to play up the PR again

We don't need crap similar to Halo whether it be gameplay, cinematics or whatever so quit comparing them. I mean it's way too generic from what I saw so far with the fourth, I think I've never seen such uninspired design for an alien race, this is like the artist made something that would appeal to the kids only, with the perspective to turn them into toys. Hence, putting as a preamble a real actors scene contrasts way too much with what the game will be...
To be honest I 'll never understand the people revering those games and I'm glad I'm not a part of the masses fond of this franchise all in all.

"Halo 4 will be focused less on the Halo series' traditional straightforward first-person shooter genre, instead relying more on mystery, exploration and discovery. "

Sounds more like epic scenery (like halflife 2 alien monstrous architecture) and alot of plot revelations.

After a while they (game companies) run out of easy to do glitzy new alien visual stuff (short of complex freeflowing tentacle animations -- which might be the big advancement from one of these companies someday).

Dumbing it down for productization and/or movie production might be the path they are taking (after all, game companies primary priority IS profits and competing in making good games does get hard)

Halo Myst or Sherlock Master Chief ....

Maybe even without end-to-end violence they might have things spring out at you from unusual places to keep you watchful (randomize places for replay value).

Hey guys, lets keep the discussion in the BioShock section focused on BioShock. If you want to discuss whether or not Halo 4 looks as good as the first three or whether you liked the first three to begin with the Video Games and Tech section would be happy to have you.

A tour of Columbia would be an interesting demo. Show it before all the fighting and destruction starts.

How about a Higher edition or a Demo

Halo 4 has one and so does DOA5 how about Bioshock now, and we still need a demo to.

How many games never do demos?

They cost money to produce and they already showed what most of the game is with a flood of trailers

No offense, but this is almost like the same topic you asked on the other thread, with the inclusion of asking for a "Higher" Edition:
    http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...es-or-a-demo-)

I know you just want these kind of things for the game because other games have it, but it just seems senseable to just talk about those in related threads that already exist here, than just starting multiple threads that just ask again about the same things.

Plus, they did show off a lot of the game too early, and demanding for more demos or content is kinda pushing development further, especially when we still haven't played the actual game yet.

Thinking about it, the company completely blew the "WTF is that?!?" moment(s) players would have with most/all of the so called 'heavy hitters", unless they completely change them or have another dozen more they havent shown us yet (which I doubt very much).

I remember I originally played Bioshock 1 (after it had already been out for 2 years) without seeing any trailers and only the box cover art (which when you think about it looked pretty stupid/weird when you didnt know what it was). SO just about everything in the game was new and unspoiled.

The OP's two near identical threads have been merged.

They could release a demo that allows you to play what was shown in the 5 minute sneak peek.
I think in order to help hype up Infinite and the pre-orders they should give out a free downloadable map(Infinite style) for Bioshock 2(Multiplayer)(even though a different company worked on it, it would still keep everyone interested and keep the hype up). Just my opinion.

An interesting idea but probably too much work to adapt the assets (figures, weapons, effects, maneuvering) under a whole next generation engine (from that level reverting back to the UE 2.5). Probably would revive the Bisoshock MP a bit.

  17. Yeah, I know it would be to much work to add onto everything else. But, would be pretty cool if there was just a map that kinda introduces you into Infinite and would be a nice gift to those who continue to play and enjoy the Bioshock Franchise. So, it could have also been used as a Thank You as well as a Promo. Put up some flyers on walls in the map saying to Pre-Order Bioshock Infinite at BioshockInfinite.com etc.

A Columbia Public Service Instructional sequence of 'Proper and Safe use of the Sky-Lines'.... (from the times before things went to pot in Columbia)

They have released over 20 different videos of Bioshock Infinite. One of which is 15 minutes of pure gameplay and another is 10 minutes of pure gameplay. So, they have def. released more than enough videos. Not its time to bring on a little more attention.
