G+K - Can't found Religions/Pantheons or access Espionage

So the new expansion completely broke my game

Every time I play a game, when I get a prophet, pantheon, or spy, I can't access the Religion or Espionage menus - Because they don't even exist in my game! I mean, the icons and prompts show up saying I have a spy, or to found a religion/pantheon, but clicking them does -nothing-.

As it stands, every time I get a prophet or a pantheon, that's it. My game is done. I can't progress to the next turn. And forget espionage being useful. There's no way for me to use these features.

Has anyone else had this happen and found out how to fix it!? I want to like, or at least tolerate, Civ 5. But it seems hell bent on testing the limits of my patience with every patch and/or change to the game.

EDIT:

Not sure what caused the problem, but saving, quitting to the main menu and reloading seemed to fix it. Hasn't come back yet.

On another note, has anyone discovered a way to set holy cities and which religion a nation uses in the Worldbuilder? Updating a map of Earth for G+K and I'd like to set the appropriate Holy Cities.
