Please post your dxdiag. What is happening in the game when this happens? Any interaction with a leader screen or pop up when this hapopens?
I will post the DXdiag when I get home, but this happens usually between turns, but not always. And the graphics are now showing red and white checker board sometimes on leader screen or even the city screen will have the red and white checker board on each tile bit not the whole screen. Also it was showing a bright light above the fish icons now and the city sometimes that is " miracle like" bright if you know what I mean. I had messed with the defintion on the video options before G&K and it would not even load without it skipping like an old CD right off the bat. THen I reset CIV defualt options a week ago before the D&K additon and all was fine. Now it started to do the same, so I lowered it and it still managed to start but it would then freeze and go black after 10- 25 turns. And thanks for the Help Oblio.
It seems it may end up being a system capabilility or system resource issue. Red and white checkers may suggest GPU/CPU bottlenecking. The game minimum standards have not changed but systems below spec may have issues even if they worked before and higher end systems may now be more challenged. There are also known nvidia driver issues so if you have an nvidia card and recently updated drivers, roll back to 296 or even 285 if you can.

Your machine is right on the edge of the minimum requirements (some benchmarks would place it below) do you have a way to monitor the temperature of your video card?

Called Tech support at 1-866-219-9839 and they said to update Driver-I did on Navdia and then to uninstall and Reinstall with the firewall down-no luck and I called back and they said they are working on it, but I don't see anyone else talking about it- I will let you know of any updates -thanks everyone.
If i have to hazard a guess (and i hate guessing), your video card is dying.
Can you try to run the Heaven Benchmark from Unigine, and see if it completes
I saw you recommend this twice now... that is not a particularly good advice.. The latest WHQL drivers are 301.42 and have several improvements. Even specifically for CiV. If anything the person in this thread should update his drivers as they are from March 2011...Originally Posted by oblio

so we will probably have repeat from standard civ 5 lunch, when it took them a year to fix all the issues
I have also gods and kings and I can see when further into game more problems are coming
Standard solutions:
- reinstall drivers
- reinstall game
- start new game
- change hardware
- run dxdiag
- send us save game
Just wait a year and everything will be fine, suddenly everything will work as it should from the begining after 100 of patches and you will find that your card or processor overheats no more.
