    6/14 Patch Broke Offline Mods

After installing the 6/14 patch, Civ V will crash every time I start a game with mods (any mod, or even no mods at all but started through the mods menu) while Steam is in offline mode.

Possibly related: the world builder tool crashes at startup in the same circumstances.

Things I've tried already that made no difference:
    - Setting EnableGameCoreThreading to 0
    - Deleting the folder "My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V"

    Help?

I'm not a mod expert, but I guess they have to update the mod to adapt to the new patch

It appears to be the same bug/issue that causes the ModBrowser to crash the game if the Steam servers are under abnormal load - so the dev's are aware of it. Hopefully it'll appear high on their issue list on Monday.

I'm pretty certain this is nothing to do with any of the individual mods, because the crash occurs even if all mods are disabled and I attempt to start a game by selecting Mods->Next->Single Player.

It isn't. It's a bug in the way the ModBrowser screen (the one after the Mods EULA warning screen) attempts to access Steam to check if *ANY* mods have changed.
