    Will the Gods and Kings add Multiplayer unit animations?

    ^Topic^

    All of my friends have the game but no one really wants to play it online because it lacks unit animations, anyone knows if this will be added in the new expansion?

    Actually the base Civ5 game supports multiplayer animations as of today. But to answer your question, yes, the expansion will support multiplayer animations (and also the removal of animations in singleplayer). The code for the expansion got backported to the vanilla game so now both the original and the expansion support MP animations.

    Because like the second post said, Multiplayer Animations were added today in the Patch.

    They aren't a big deal and fairly boring - but you can use them now in multi

    Yeah, I'm sure your little value judgement went a long way towards convincing him that he shouldn't care about the animations. Nice maturity there.

    It would be better if they let us who play with friends over LAN interact with the AI during our games. Or more like have the AI interact with us. It kinda (like completely) breaks the game not being able to.

    And in G&K the espionage will be disabled completely?!? Seriously? How are we going to convince friends to buy and play this game with us if the espionage is ☺☺☺☺ing turned off in LAN games?!?

    From what I heard, they are turning off the intrigue system for multiplayer. However, spies and other espionage features are still in the game, I thought?

  10. Oh, well intrigue is the "peek under the hood" feature right? That makes sense, since the game can't read a human being's mind. I'm okay with that. But I still want to steal techs and foment revolts!

    It doesn't work with the AI in MP games either, but I'm not really fussed. I can play the game without it, I'm sure I'll be fine.

    You seem to do it all the time Just an opinion, but real mature to take it that harshly

    And while Intrigue doesn't work in multi I am willing to bet that the AI in multi will eventually be fixed with modders so that they can pre-emptively interact with humans once again and eventually probably Intrigue as well

    I didn't take it harshly, I actually found it kind of sad. You are so against the animations that you feel the need to try to rain on someone else's parade. Petty.

    Haven't I said before I am not against animations? I just said personally I won't use them. If people want to use them its fine with me - not sure where you keep getting your bs from but ok lol

    Its sad that you think everything must be a commentary against your views, when its just an expression of a partrite opinion.

    How can modders fix it for MP when mods don't work in MP?

    Ah I gotcha. I was hopeful 18 or so months ago, the intervening time has made me much less so but I would really love to be wrong.

    Indeed. And yes: as far as I'm aware, you'll still be able to do all that sneaky stuff in multiplayer. I don't think espionage is disabled entirely.
