    PC, collecters edition.

It's only ten bucks more, and I want a physical edition for once.

Mabey he lives at 2 places, has his PC at one place and his ps3 at the other?

OT: PC, as buying the xbox or ps3 versions would require buying a console first, besides the PC version (hopefully) has mods and such.

coz its a faf to set up my laptop to display on my tv and my ps3 is ready to go at a moment notice. Just hit the Playstaion button and off i go. As the disk will most likely be living in my console after the 12th of october coming out once in a while so i can play borderlands 2.

Plus it would be the first time i've bought a game on multiple formats. infact funnily enough i has the original xcom on Amiga 1200 and then got it and tftd on pc and ps1 and had them both at the same time and played them both, though the ps1 versions were very unstable

    LOL
Plus true It is much nicer just to put it in and play than to deal with some of the setup crap with the PC, cabling, changing resolutions to fit the tv, etc. heh..

    XBOX 360!

My PC kind of sucks. Plus my whole spiel about buying it on console so that developers and publishers realize that we all don't just play shooters. I mean, I like shooters, but I like other kinds of games.

I have to agree there. I love shooter but the console world is dominated by them. Turn based strategy can work just as well on console as pc and firaxis are the only company that seems to realise that. They have done CIV on console. It was just a shame that it was a light version. As it seemed to take no time to complete when i played it

PC, personally. Pre-ordered the SE for $50 from Amazon (they've raised it to $60 now.)

PC, Special Edition as soon as my brick-and-mortar store gets its act together and puts it up for pre-order. I might buy a PS3 copy for a friend though. Not too sure about that.

Ok, so it's PS3 for me if my Destop PC AND my laptop are not an option. Maybe I should store one of the systems somewhere else, just in case for a fire or a robbery.

I preordered for PC, but I might buy it for xbox later. I'm a sucker for achievements, and I don't particularly like steam so its achievements don't motivate me.

Pre-order my PC copy as well, tho still no word on SE.

PS3. I'll buy it again on Steam after a price drop, and I can see what mods are on offer. Also, I have a large screen TV that doesn't play well with PC resolutions.

PC Master Race here. Pre-Ordered it for PC and have gone to my local Gamestop TWICE to try to upgrade to Special Edition; they still don't have the option to. This disturbs me deeply.

I find it laughable anyone would consider this game for console if they owned a PC that could run it with decent graphics. It's all well and good for the console owners who don't have gaming PCs, but if you do, why would you not buy it for PC?

    Hell, it's $10 cheaper too.

Also, how could I forget, the Special Edition is PC exclusive. I want that X-Com patch for my jacket.

Wow i totally forgot about trophies and achievements. I wonder what they will be? Coz if the original versions is anything to go by, the amount of hours i played, then hopefully the new version will be the same, i'm going to platinum it no problem

Some of us cannot afford a decent PC
I am a couch potato, and a console is the best way to play in the couch!
I know PCs have more graphic options, but from what i have seen from the videos, this game doesnt even take consoles to the limits. ATTENTION: This is not a complaint, i am VERY happy with the graphics i have seen, they are 100x or more better than the original, this game is more about gameplay than graphics on every aspect.

Since every action is "scripted" i am not concerned with screen tearing or framedrops in the consoles. I have a PS3, and from the gameplay videos of this game to the quality of Uncharted 3 there is a HUGE step, so i canīt see how or in which aspects the PC version will be a lot better (i can see little specific things that can be better).
This is probably where pc modding will come in.
Anyone has any reliable info about the specific differences between PC and consoles? (besides the UI)

    Xbox for playing...

    PC Special Ed for having.

I much rather take a disc, put it in the machine and play, without worrying about settings, and drivers and crashy, grindy, tedious bits. I'm sure my laptop can 'handle' the game but, it'll be better to play it on my 58-inch, with my good ol 1987 Stonehenge speakers shaking the room up.

That's pretty much the exact opposite to my situation is. I've got a reasonably modern PC, with a hi-res monitor, but my TV is some crappy thing I got second hand from a friend of my dad's-who was upgrading to a widescreen, before you start thinking it's dodgy. Granted, that's second to the fact that I haven't got a console at all, but...

  39. #39
    Yep.

Gonna get the Xbox version for relaxed vanilla playtime and the PC version for modding.
