Sorry if I missed this posted somewhere or in some other obvious place but does anyone know when we will be able to DL and install G&K? Will it be like a 12:01 am thing the morning of the 19th or more like a 2-3pm in the afternoon sort of deal?
From what I recall the DLC's come out in the early afternoon so I'm taking it will be that type of dealio?

There is a countdown on Steam which tells me that the release will be on 7PM GMT 19 June or 22 June depending on if you live in NA or outside it.

On the other topic at hand, currently Steam says the game will be unlocked in 6 days 21 hours. It's 1045am where I am right now so that puts it at about 7am on the 19th in North America.

I just assumed it was coming out around noon central time. That seems to be the time when most games come out on Steam. I had better check because I plan on doing a let's play of it.
Can someone explain to me why the expansion will release with a 3 days delay, if you don't live in NA? Is it because of the servers or is it because additional time is needed for some of the translations or is it just to keep poor Europeans holding their breath?

And it's the same for the UK and Europe, except it's on a friday instead.
I'm guessing the actual difference is due to the fact that european retailers are likely to be closed partially or completely in the weekend (or was, anyway) which may not have been a problem in the US (I don't know if that's the case, but it's a good guess)

I just went to the Steam store and it says release will be in 2 days and 3 hours. Its now 17 Jun 2012 and 10:19 AM EDT in my time zone. That equates to Tuesday, 19 Jun 2012, at 1:19 PM EDT.
Yeah, most stores are closed on sundays (at least here in Germany). If you want to buy beer or ice-cream on sundays, you have to go to a gas station. Hope this will change one day
I prepurchased G&K, so no need for me to visit a store for being able to play the game. When I bought G&K on Steam (few weeks ago), only the English version was available and because of this I thought the release date was June 19th...

If stores closed on the weekends in the US, they would go out of business. Saturday is hugely important for sales and Sunday is no slouch either.
In the UK, Saturday is the busiest day for almost all shops. Sunday trading is still patchy - most types of shop are restricted to 6 hours of opening, limited to between 10am and 4pm. Crazy religious holdover (though better than it used to be, at least they're allowed to open AT ALL on a Sunday now). Here in Lancaster, most of the national chain shops open as long as they're allowed on Sunday, and a few of the local shops do.
Steam on my PC on the US West Coast says release at approximately 9PM on 6/18/2012 PST.
Yeah, so it looks like 12 P.M. Eastern Standard and 9 P.M. Pacific Standard.
That's what steam is showing me too. Available on the 18th in approximately 22 hours. Somewhere between 9 and 10 pm PST.
I guess that's a midnite release for EST or something like that.
You know what they're gonna make me do... They're gonna make me download a cracked expansion even though I preordered the game. Three days late because of some stupid reasons? The game is obviously finished, so let us have it. I paid money, dollar money, cash money!
Some people are really right when they say that the ones who pay for games usually end up having more restrictions than those who don't. This is not a big thing at all. But for example, EA games won't add my country to the Origin store, they don't want my money obviously. So I play their games without paying them (except for Battlefield which was available for purchase through Battlelog).
This is just silly. As far as I know there are no Origin exclusive titles. Meaning that every EA game is also available via some other store.
Ohw, and discussing pirating/circumventing copy-protection is not allowed on these forums if I understood them correctly...

Actually there are several games that are Origin only for PC. Star Wars: The Old Republic & Mass Effect 3 are two examples that spring to mind. (are you referring to only being able to get a digital copy from origins, as opposed to getting a copy from somewhere else but having to use origin to launch your game?)
I'm referring to where you can buy the game. I'm aware that some games can only be played by using Origin (like CiV can only be played using Steam). But all the games on Origin can be bought in other places as well. That is why I reacted to the guy before me, as he states he can't buy them....
Yeah I see that now I read it again. My bad. I'm so tied to steam now that if a game doesn't come on steam I usually don't bother unless it's the greatest game ever designed!

Only Steam proved to have most professional approach. But they don't sell new games from EA.

Those two sell to a lot of countries in the EU...
At my location its now Jun 18, 2012, at 8:30 AM EDT. Steam says G&K will be released in 16 hours. Thus, it looks like release will be at 12:30 AM June 19, 2012. When we wake up tomorrow, G&K will be ready to go.
play.com doesn't list my country either. But looks like Gamersgate would let me pay through moneybookers. I'm gonna definitely try and see if it works next time I decide to buy something.
