Is there a downside to building Trading Posts? I have plenty of land and a worker who's got nothing better to do. Is there an expense to them that offsets the gold intake?

There is a downside only if there was a more suitable improvement (farm,mine etc) to be built at that tile but you went on and built a TP. Otherwise no downside, they are maintenance free. Only roads have a maintenance cost, 1 gold/turn per tile.Originally Posted by dmancuso
