    Additional features needed for ModBuddy

    1) Ability to "update existing file" (ie overwrite file in project with an updated version) - would save the "delete dds file, add existing dds file, rebuild, test, DAMN!, exit, set VFS=true, rebuild, test" cycle

    2) Ability to set "exclude from built mod" on a file - useful for storing the Workshop mod image in the ModBuddy project without it being added to the .civ5mod file (now if the Workshop upload page could automatically detect such a file - perhaps one with a fixed name like workshop.jpg that would be "really cool")

"Exclude from built mod" would be fantastic for other reasons as well - like keeping the xcf source of images actually in the mod source, rather than having to keep it somewhere else. I don't know if you can drop files into the folder without them appearing in the mod, but it's nice for them to appear in the hierarchy in ModBuddy, as you can open in external programs from there as well.

I'd forgotten you can do that - it makes point 1) redundant as the ext app would just save back "on top" of the file in the mod dir structure, which would then be included on the next build

As long as a general exclusion could be applied (to avoid inflating mods' sizes), that would be true. However, I keep the canonical forms of most of my graphics in SVG or XCF formats for convenient editing, so I regularly edit them. However, you can just save on top of the mod files when exporting. Overall, I'd rather keep the files in the mod tree without them bloating the mod download, and still keep the convenience of them appearing in ModBuddy to open or otherwise manipulate in situ.

That's what I meant, item 2 with ext app opening files makes item 1 redundant (not ext app opening makes 1 and 2 redundant) - well I know what I mean!

    Okay

My brain is all over the place today, so me missing a meaning is not necessarily anyone else's fault...
