I guess I will write a short write up of games.
Germans V. His Egyptians
I settle at 3500 next to a barb and Greeks with no gold. He takes out Greeks and I get barb and make WA and move it to top of hill. He has enough gold to make a pikman and horsemen and waits till the end of the turn to walk into my empty cap early.
Egyptians V. His Romans
I get a terrible start starting at the end of a peninsula and get a friendly giving me a useless local map. I settle next to 2 trees and 3 water with a fish and get oracle. I hammer out a warrior to take barb 2 turns away but it is across a river so I had to move to a hill. I see a friendly 2 turns from barb and decide to go for it and I have a good chance of getting HBR(Which I get) and then I can have a vet horsemen from my first barb. I take out barb and make 3 horsemen when he quits saying he lost 2 50/50 battles to Japan and the next turn a barb ate him up, I was 3 turns away from Japan with my vet Ha...
India Mirror
I'm land locked by a barb and mountains so I decide to settle with one tree and hope the barb gives me something good. I hammer it out and get BW and cattle. Great... He gets walk in on Romans and 7cog a bit later. I tech HBR and get 40g from another barb with my first warrior. I build horsemen with only 3 production a turn. I name a couple tiles and get another barb when his horsemen shows up, he attacks my double injured vet warrior that I used to protect my injured horse and doesn't get injured while I heal my horse. It would be a button race but even if either of us won we had a good chance of losing 2-1.5, we were in trees. Well the English were above me and I was going to give it a chance even though if I took them out I still had a very little chance but I resynched that turn and hard froze so it was game over.
Japan V. His English
I start on a peninsula with nothing but a barb and guess who is on the otherside of that barb? Yep Grizz. I was going to settle 2 turns away with 2 trees but I saw him settle at 3900 right next to it so I decided to run away and hope for better luck with friendlies or something. I name a tile right next to barb so he knows where I am, I settle on hill next to another hill and 2 trees and water at 3700 with 10g. I hammer for 2 turns and rush a warrior. He moves a warrior underneath the hill and I attack 1.5-1 and win flawlessly. I move my warrior back into my cap and rush another one to take a barb 2 turns away. I see his WA going around to the hill avoiding going underneath mine 3 turns later. I had hammered out another warrior and got 40g from barb. I had 2 warriors in my cap by the time he showed up on hill. He attacked 4.5-2.5 and got injured and I rushed another warrior. I move my warrior that took barb back next to my cap to make army. He attacks next turn 3-2.5 and loses giving me a vet WA, which I move straight towards his cap. Of course when I get there I lose 4.5-2.5 so he comes back at me with a vet WA. My warrior that took out barb named 2 tiles and got a friendly for 25g. I had 12 beakers on HBR when he came back at me with his vet WA and I rushed a WA in my cap. I lost 7.5-6 and with that the game.
English V His Japan
I get 2 friendlies for 50g and settle next to 2 trees and 5 water with fish. Indians are next to me so I hammer out WA and take them out 3-1.5 and start teching HBR. Spanish show up next to Delhi and I attack their warrior 2-1 getting injured. By the time I got to their cap they had a half fortified warrior and I lost 3-2. I build a horsemen and take a barb 3 turns away from me. I get a caravan which I sell and rush out my HA. I attack 6-3 and take Madrid at 2100 for Nav. A barb shows me SoC but I wait to rush a galleon until I have my 100g I sold some archers and did all gold in my 3 caps to get it. Once I did I rushed a galleon but he had got SoC same turn. I ran him down and forced him to sell his galley with his 2 gp in it. I put my vet HA in it to make sure I could take them in case he unloaded them on land. So I'm cruising around and see what he has and I see a galley but he is able to unload the settler on an island with 2 fish before I could sink it. I get KT cannon and use it to take his first island city next to Beijing which he took out early. I build a galleon fleet and attack his 100g city I believe, 2 turns away from his cap. My HA wins 13 to 12 and takes it getting injured and I attack his cap 13-6 with my cannon after he took out my militia with with a catapult 5.5-4. Luckily my archer won 7-6 flawlessly and then 7-4 against his catapults and with that his cap was empty and I won.
Russia V His Germans
I see AW in my local map and a barb 2 tiles away. I settle first turn next to 2 trees and the barb. I take it at one pop get 40g. I save up hammers for 3 turns and rush a galley for 40g to take AW, I switch to fundy and start teching HBR meanwhile my warrior meets India with nothing in his cap at 3500 and he takes out Romans. I take the risk next turn and attack 2-1.5 and win. I tech HBR and sell my galley and name a tile on the island for 15g. I get a friendly on the mainland for BW and it shows me a barb which turns to 3 flags. I build a horse and take it out for vet and 40g I think. I build vet HA and go for a barb that that barb showed me and it also showed me the Germans outline. I move to hill next to barb and see a single warrior. I could either take the barb or overrun his warrior. Well the choice was made for me when I saw 2 more warrior pop up behind his first next to his cap, so I knew I could overrun all 3 of them more than likely so I decided to attack him instead of the barb. Next turn I overrun the other 2 warriors and another one behind those two for blitz upgrade. He builds a WA and wins 4.5-4.5. I build another HA to go for barb, naturally he got march upgrade. I sent a single horse over to hill to see where he was and I attacked his WA in trees 4.5-6 double injuring him. I build another HA and take out his WA 13.5-6 and get veteran. Take barb and get another horsemen from barb. I move horsemen and try to win 3-4 against his archer but see I am losing and retreat. Next turn I walk into an empty Rome with my single horse and then I take his cap with my vet fundy HA.
Romans V His Greeks
He thought he was on an island at 3200, which it looked like one, but it wasn't. It connected at the very bottom with a narrow land bridge. He gets 7cog and I take out Germans with a vet WA and then French with a vet HA. I think we both got a tech from our first barb I got Alphabet and he got Pottery. I take Japs out later with my vet HA and it gives me 4 caps and ceremonial burial, so I built 4 temples in all my caps so I could get cathedrals in all of them since AoC was not far away. Meanwhile he spent a bunch of his gold on a library in 2 pop Athens and then later on his 100g city in medieval. So I wasn't very worried about an attacking force in the near future. He sky rocketed in tech but I was able to nab Monarchy from him with a GS. He was at 13 tech while I was still at 5. He got irrigation bonus and masonry and workshop. So I see a galleon and he started working on his 3 hills for a barracks so I figured he had something big planned but with his lack of funds due to building libraries I think it was to late. I got lucky and won a 2-1 against his galleon and I moved my KT cannon onto my galley and then on a hill to take his 3rd city that he built in the early A.Ds. I had knights by then and almost had Sam Castle built and had roads to all my caps. I was in fundy and building a KA a turn when he quit. To be honest even if he would've played perfectly he couldn't have won unless I made a few very big mistakes, but I think if he would've built a barracks in Athens instead of a library he would've had at better chance at least, even though you were still pretty screwed. Because of that I knew I didn't have to worry much about defense so you didn't keep me on my toes. GG's. Pretty happy I finally won one
