    Among the Sleep

Saw this article on Kotaku about this Among the Sleep, its a first person horror game which has you playing as a 2 year old, seems like an interesting concept.

I'm intrigued. It's working it's way on to my radar, definitely.

Very intriguing indeed. The interesting challenge with this game will be to make it truly scary for adult players while staying true to what small children are actually afraid of, because those are two very different things, but without striking the appropriate balance this game won't work. If it's scary on an adult level it could betray the interesting concept and becomes nothing more than an unnecessary gimmick, however if it accurately represents some of the things children are scared of it could potentially end up being silly and lose the nerve-wracking tension that a horror game needs to have.

Definitely keeping an eye on this one, though, and the fact that it will be on Mac is a bonus in my book.

Hah, I finally just got to watch the trailer with sound on. Now I want to know if Gary Schyman is scoring it. Totally sounds like his violin/jarring discord kind of musical work. I thought it was something pulled from Bioshock there for a second.

Hmm, I like the concept. I wouldn't worry about the game being based around things kids are afraid of, really. I'm certain the developers will have enough common sense to avoid using things that are completely un-scary as the focus of the game.

What I would expect is for them to play off of those little things, portraying them in a different, far more mature way than would be the case in reality (like having the spooky shadows actually be a demon that wants to devour your soul. That sort of thing.) Make what the child thinks is reality, the actual reality. Not too sure if that makes any sense, so I'll leave it at that.

Also, the name sounds like a really bad translation...

What your saying is exactly what I expect, it's all about perspective and interpretation which can make something quite normal to an adult be quite terrifying to a child and their imagination or someone under the effect of a drug. So what your saying makes total sense to me.
