I imagine so knowing my luck.

As for the hating on Americans. Well if it isn't obvious by this point I'd be shocked.

Umm, I'm not really sure why you do but that's beside the point and off topic so whatever.

Maybe have even missing limbs and while that would be bad after research could have bionic replacements? maybe thats for dlc some day?
The other thing is say one of your troops is say french - what happens if france stop funding for xcom - i am guessing they would become hostile to xcom - if that was the case how would you feel about having basically the enemy within?
maybe its all dlc for the future but some intresting thoughts.
Who'd want a Frenchy in the team anyway?! You can change what nationality they are, so yes gents. I'm afraid in MY household... The British (and Colonial Cusins: Canada, New Zealand and Australia) will be winning the war, again.

MrJet, No offence meant. Just poking fun... I have worked with the American's numerous times, and 90% of you guys are great; however, some images stick with you.
Just like the Cowboy (USMC and in more ways than one..) went walking through the Desert with his Hat on... not telling which one, but lets just say Middle East... get my point?

I don't know... wrap your head around this one.

I'm playing the French in CiV right now.
    I'm American.
I'm currently at war with the Americans and thrashing them handily with tech one era above theirs.

Oh, what's that? I hear the sound of reality snapping like peanut brittle. >:3

Seriously, I always had a guy with a French sounding name in the original XCOM. His nickname was always "Frenchie" he always kicked ass and was usually the heavy weapon guy. One of his incarnations ended a career with approximately fourteen fatal wounds. I only started keeping track around the first five times he was in the hospital.

He was a badass who refused to die.

Old Chap I'm a Brit. Why do you think I'm going to be rolling with team Commonwealth?

Also as for the French. I would definitely take this frenchman for my team

So I'm not the only one who played that? Pretty good Frenchie, if not annoying...

Binary domain was the hidden gem of 2012.
Cain was easily the best character in it. Bo...well he was definitely one of the best supporting characters this year.

It really was, I could play the demo alone for hours.

You only got the demo? If so then buy the actual game. Or at least pirate it.
The multiplayer is somewhat dead but can be fun when you actually get people for it.

    medbay

Again only scars make one badass.
Nothing says i've been there than wounds of war

You know this whole discussion would make one room much less static:The medbay
In the old game you just had youre wounded soldiers with a little timer as to when the're 'done' for active duty.
But what if you added some tech to it and even a detailed list of injuries.
like seargent mike :weakened left leg to fatal injury in the gluteus maximus due to energy projectile scaring the paniculus adiposus.
(This is just a fancy docters way of saying he got shot in the but by a laser bolt, but hey it reads very ''House'' like(( ooh get a bunch of docters constantly ☺☺☺☺☺ing to each other about an alien fungus slowly eating away one of you're men))
And that would also open up new aspects of the autopsy. If you analyse a floater you might get the option to research their breathing mask.Just the thing for you're trooper who is disabled because of that green gas you saw in the demo.(maybe even give him a Darth vader mask and dito voice after he's gotten this ).
And yes we do like cyborg upgrades for the disabled.Like that captain in starship troopers.
Or if you shoot down an alien vessel with regenerationpods you can rebuild them for you're troops .An then see you're wounded floating in a big green testtube.

The medbay would become a very interesting room indeed

  16. #56
I really like that idea, a complex med-bay, would be really awesome

  17. #57
Too late to implement though. Cyborgs are always nice

So true, Binary Domain is such a underrated game. Pity it was released with so little marketing and at a poor time, really do hope it gets a sequel because that thing in my books beaten gears of war into the ground.

So you thought its a good idea to advice pirating a game in an official forum of a game company?

  23. #63
Yeah you might want to be careful...

Kind of got it bass ackwards there. Capitalism would anti-piracy, Communism is pro-piracy (if they're pro game at all) until the government starts making games. Because everyone should have it equally. Most communist nations aren't pro-video game though.

Tetris is the the exception that proves the rule of course.

Ah but pirating a competitors game is just fine in the eyes of capitalist corp. Because ultimately it is not enough that they succeed. Their competition must fail.
Insisting on fair play is commie talk.

You don't understand capitalism. You don't want your competitor to go out of business. You want them to do mediocre or have a cult following, then you can buy it out and expand base.

    Capitalism.

But the Americans have always been in cohoots with teh french, haven't you? No. sorry, I stand corrected. they did try and Arm teh Indians first to mount a Gorrilla war against, you before siding with you in the Civil war? point... You cant trust 'em....!

Just don't get a HWP thats French, it will have more reverse gears than forward..!

Topic? TOPIC?! Where are you?! I thought the thread was about the appearance of veteran soldiers in the field not about the French.

Let's march this thread double time back on track. Thanks.

Haha! I was waiting for it....!

I think the idea of changing the apperance for vets is a great idea. One question I would like ansewred, is:
Are you able to go back and customise any Characture? For example. say i gave them all buzz cuts when they first joined, am i then, able to go back (weather vet or just when i think they have earnt it) give them a more sylish trim?

I dont want to change there names, or nationailites, more just apperance, hair do's and the like?

Yep the screen shot shows a non-rookie in the "change appearance" screen.

I just hope changing nationality makes it into the final game as every time we've seen the option so far its been "not implemented"
I am with you on that one... The flags making it into game that is

Everytime there is that promise it never seems to make it to the end game. Then we hafta wait for the modders to get into it. It looks as tho this time the promise will come through as its on all the screen shots. Do we know if we can change the flags or are they just pre-set when we hire the soldier?

I hope we get to see the nationality of the solider as part of selection. That way we just choose who and what we want from the start. No need for the changes later!

I'm with you, I hated the original when you the soldiers are randomly selected and your team looked like charlies angels and fan club...! Nothing against girlies, (I love 'em!) but I'm just a gentlemen. I'd rather send the boys to dodge bullets!

i know this is a bit of my rpg geek coming out of me, but i can't wait to be a super assault type of class.

    loadout:
shotgun, heavy armor, smoke grenades, arc thrower and a ... desert eagle ... point 5 0.

    perks:
run and gun and something that allows benefits from smoke grens and... who else knows.

    looks like:
samuel jackson ... in pulp fiction.
    OR
    razor ramon

those moments are going to be uber epic. just smackin' them alien hoes ... left and right.
