The end of civ rev ?!

I usually do not start new threads, but what happened to me last night was so big and "scary" that it even made me choose this dramatic title

I want to check with you guys first what I should do. I won't explain how the glitch works, but I could describe what you can do with it so that people can recognize it and curse the other player off

I am worried though that talking about the glitch might lead people on to try and reproduce it. I had it done to me yesterday and the guy admitted it later and even explained to me how it works. I did it myself in a friendly match with him and it is crazy powerful. Unlike anything I have ever seen.

Makes freezing and city collapsing look like tiny fluffy kitten.

It is not the ol' map trick or the invisible roads or something like that. I already confirmed with another established member and he also has never heard of something like that and he too agrees that this could be the end of civ rev as we know it.

Sorry for the cryptic stuff, but I want to ask you guys first if you think it is OK to talk about the glitch or not.

I don't think you should post anything here. Just giving the context can give hint of what it is and how it could be done. If known/respected forum member really wants to know what it is you can PM it to them. There is more lurker than we think.

So far I encountered only one guy. And he said about 5 other people know about. The problem is that he told me without hesitation. So he might be telling others too.

I like the tourneys, but I also like variety and beating noobs occasionally.

It just amazes me what "side-effects" this game has. It seems to be endless.

Horrible news there Rem0 ,and im rembering old stuff and super glitchs bumbumalot used 2 moan about a long time ago that people thought impossible but there here...my only hope they dont invade this forum but the 7 people who know now could muliply 2 the millions by sunday!! or the 100s or so that play now. im gona pretend its not there for now

As you said he told you without hesitation Rem, so im guessing it will be out there to all the cheats soon enough. I wonder what it was, but as SVPM has said, there are way too many lurkers. So it is probably best to keep this one via PM,s. It still amazes me on the lengths some peolpe will go to on this ''game'' to get a win.

There is that, but the thing is, most new forum members arrive from ranked looking for a challenge, If ranked dies, then the new members dry up too.

Anyway, Is it obvious you've been cheated, REM? If so then avoiding those players just like the freezers/collapsers will hopefully suffice?

Don't worry Jack, I am not mad or anything at that guy. Just baffled.

The real problem is if more and more people figure out how to do that. And on top of that, if used subtly it can give you a huge edge without others knowing or being able to prove anything. Even if you know how to do it, you cannot tell whether somebody else did it or not unless you got visual prove.

U actually got me scared Rem0 and for you to start a thread which is dang near unheard of in my lifetime on the forums.... it is something to be taken seriously. I thought I knew everything but with that type of glitch that I don't know nothing of.... can be horrifying especially if it is worse than the disconnect trick or the reset trick...

But as I was saying in another thread. this game is definitely broken if you really want to cheat it, i suspect this isnt even the only game destroying glitch...
Better to just play trustworthy people, or dont care too much if you loose (especially when it looks suspicious).....
Or we can just all buy haupage recorders

It is amazing that anyone who isnt a cheater ever gets to the top of ranked - must be the cheaters aren't really trying... or are just really incompetent.
