    What you really are

You thought you were a Big Daddy in BioShock 2? Hah, think again.

Heh that vertical figure would make a good Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade float.

A balloon to hold the weight of all 87 weapons/ammos and psychic control of 'the big hand' ....

The great secret --- The Little Sisters actually Control Rapture........

That put me onto another video that is using the fly+ghost cheats for the Lighthouse to Rapture sequence and they did alot of 3D work to fill in that sequence -- gives you a good idea more of what the City really looked like (great potential for a MMORPG)

Ill have to go do that sequence myself to look at it in detail.

I looked at the Lighthouse to Welcome Center with the cheats and they did an extensive job on the buildings (you barely see alot of it as you pass by in a few seconds in the games normal sequence).

They did alot of work for it and it mustve been used as a demo to try to impress investors or management to push the game (and for trailers advertizing).

Being able to freely roam around the cityscape in a sub to see alot more than you saw in that footage (and see from the many Bathysphere routes) would be impressive in the MMORPG (which would actually have the rest of the city).

I don't think an MMORPG could really happen, though. In Grand Theft Auto, you have entire cities, but you can only go inside of a tiny fraction of the buildings. There is no outside to Rapture (unless you get diving suits involed, playable Big Daddies and the like). It would take ages to design the city, let alone work on the rest of the game.

Point is, don't get your hopes up.

I dont really think it likely any time soon and certainly not with the things I propose. I have no serious expectation - few companies could do it properly and if anything we would instead get some lame warmed over content (like most other MMORPGs seen these days).

Rapture isnt really that small (and if done right you COULD go outside as that environment could be largely expanded on for more variety). We actually saw only a tiny bit of all of Rapture (the city was supposed to be one of 20000+ people and we saw the businesses and residences of a few hundred at most).

Go waaaaay up in the wall-of-text ( http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...rst-Person-MMO ) and it explains how it would need to work (better modular design, better tools, auto-generation, tapping into players for alot of the creation). Any one of those things is a major project that ALL the companies just dont want to take the risk to try to make a breakthrough on.

Hey guys, there's already a thread about a potential BioShock "muhmohrpuhg," so let's keep these kind of discussions there rather than hijacking this thread.

    Thanks.

    Whatisthisidonteven.

This is pretty disturbing. What's with the little sister's facial expressions?

Imagine if Splicers saw her, freak out, and start running away, like Breadwinner did when seeing the Teleportation Plasmid bottle. Seriously, she looks like something out of The Ring.

But it could be worse. If Delta had been physically on there, it would look like that Little Sister was trying to eat him like a snake.

Reminded me of something Ive seen done on a few other games as a 'joke' :

Its is pretty much no effort to make a model render larger (simple scaling factor) and in a few places they would have a giant something (here it would be a Big Little Sister -- being something like 15 feet tall that you would see doing its normal actions (walking along with a now not so big daddy...)

Maybe only something seen in Splicers Nightmares or after an injection of EVE that is long past its expiration date

Which is to say, all of them.

Actually, in all the game timeframes ADAM and EVE were supposed to still be being manufactured. Though some were next to long dead corpses that seem to have been laying in place for years -- previous comments were made before about Lamb's apparently not caring about health issues by doing leaving them (and a damp environment) - even in Persephone were she actually lived.
ADAM traces must act as some kind of preservative (yuck too many coroner scenes on TV shows).

Supposedly EVE is made from ADAM somehow (and maybe we really dont want to know how THAT is done, after knowing what Little Sisters do for ADAM.)

Some EVE you get from (on) Splicers you just killed and at least those could be 'fresh'. Possibly with sufficient purity it lasts a really long time -- but that blue glowing IS using up some chemicals for the Bioluminescence (like Luciferin uses ATP).
