Good Games with Sucky Endings **WARNING** Maybe Spoilers!

Like the title says....name some good games with bad/sucky or no ending...and in my opinion such games are categorized according to the following:

-short or easy last level with no final boss whatsoever
    -no final dialogue
    -no final awesome cutscene
-short/sucky/ or ending to speak of at all

there are such games out there,so let's list 'em! ...and no this is not a game

    I'll start....

Rage...OMG I thought this game was soooo good, but the last level and ending...soooo disappointing

The narration for the very end of the original Max Payne was good, but the gameplay was weird and a little pointless. You basically had only one group of bad guys to fight (they were well-armed, but there was only one group), and then you had to figure out on your own that you had to shoot a couple of wires with your sniper rifle and then hit a tower with a grenade launcher to finish. It just felt kind of tacked-on, like they changed their ending somewhere close to release.

I was disappointed with the ending of Fallout 3. Not really the ending itself, but rather the fact that the game was completely over, and you couldn't return to the Capital Wasteland afterwards. A good open world game should go on after completing the main storyline. Like Skyrim or Minecraft.

Then buy them. Worth the money, unless you don't like fighting the Chinese, enclave, rednecks, aliens, and slavers/mutants. Plus the dozens of weapons/apparel.

You know what had a weak ending? King Kong the Game. Like it was just a short "It was beauty killed the beast" That game was fun, but my favorite scene from the movie was ruined and the ending was crap. However, the 3 times you got to play as kong was nice..

I agree with this, the Fallout DLC is worth getting it adds so much to the game, I loved all of them, though the Pitt was probably my favourite, followed by the swamp whose name escapes me at the moment.

As for great games with a less than great ending, BioShock, the game is brilliant, but that fight against Fontaine was a massive let down, and Mass Effect 3, again, great game, but the ending was just plain stupid.

The Fallout 3 expansions: Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Mothership Zeta, and Point Lookout. All of them are totally worth the money.

Bioshock: after you killed Ryan it was all down-hill from there. Seriously, I finished Bioshock many times and always disliked it after that event. But, until then the game is pure genius.

I was just going to say Bioshock. Damn you, headkase.

Another game that bugs the heck out of me is Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. It was made by Midway back in the early 2000's. It was really neat, a sci-fi/mystery/tps/action game with psychic powers. It was probably one of the first really gorey games that I played on the xbox. It ends with a "to be continued," and a couple of years back Midway went under in the great game industry recession that happened. I'll never know what was going on, never find out why the good guys were getting shot at by their allies at the end. Sad sad sad.

I thought the ending was brilliant. Shocking, and totally unexpected, but brilliant. Arkham Asylum on the other hand had the silly Titan Joker Boss Battle which was a major anti-climax to a great game.

Mass Effect 3 ending let me down, and pretty much the entire plot of Fable 2.

Pick up Fallout 3: Game Of The Year edition which contains all 5 DLCs. Yes, saves do work with standard edition.

That they are. I got Fallout 3 GOTY containing them all, worth it. Plus I saved $50.

    We call that a twist.

I call that a story that builds up to a twist in the second act and has no idea what to do with itself for the conclusion. But to each his own.

It's about games, it was the right move decision. I was half asleep when I was posting and didn't realize where it was.

As soon as I saw this thread -- Rage jumped into my head but I see that's been taken with the thread starter. Some have said Bioshock and I agree the last level is a bit lacking. I'll say Bioshock 2 though the endings itself were fine, the whole Bioshockesque horde mode left me quite disappointed. Probably one of the worst and easiest final encounters I can remember in game. Then I played Minerva's Den and experienced the best ending/final encounter of all the Bioshock games.

There's an alternate ending to the game, you know. It was okay, you got to jump into a biplane as Jack, shoot down Kong's attackers and ultimately save him. He then gets shipped back to Skull Island. Not very imaginative, but a nice ending nonetheless.

On the issue of Fallout 3; I must say I agree with the above posters. While I bought the GOTY Edition and got to play past the ending of the main storyline, I felt the final 'battle' was ridiculous. After I defeated Autumn, I just sent Fawkes into the radiated chamber. That way, after re-awakening, my ridiculously overpowered companion would still be alive. Huzzah!

Have any of you played Luigi's Mansion? One of my favourite games, and yet extremely underrated and unappreciated, I've had it for years; I've lost count of how many times I have completed it. However, I felt the ending to the game wasn't overly amazing. You save Mario at the end. That's it. Seriously. I admit that fighting the Mecha-Bowser at the end was unexpected and was, incredibly, pretty fun, but that was it. It's the same issue with Super Mario Sunshine. Great game, awful ending.
