    New Weapon ideas

So, here goes...came up with some new ideas....

    Musket

    * Longest Reload Time

    *Longest Range

    *Useless at Short Range

*Damage increases the further away the enemy is

*Bayonet, Ineffective against Heavy Hitters, Less effective than an actual melee weapon.

    ----

    Blunderbuss

    *Long Reload Time

    *Ineffective at Mid/Long Ranges

    *HUGE Scatter effect

    ----

    Bow

    *Shortest Reload Time

    *Scarce Ammo

*Weakest Weapon, Aiming is a must (Head, Heart).

*Great for Stealth, barely any noise

    *Arrow Drop Mechanic

    *Reusable Ammo

    ----

    Revolver

    *Slow Fire Rate

    *6 Shots per clip

    *Very Loud

    *Best used at Short Range

    *Great against Armored Foes

    Molotov Cocktail

    *Drop Mechanic

*Covers a small area in flames

    *Damage over time

  2. Well a musket wouldn't be necessary when there is already a sniper rifle and semi
Automatic rifle to take its place and they have more ammo in a clip. The blunderbuss isn't needed because there is already a shotgun which does the same thing but has more ammo in the clip. The revolver is already in the game. Molotivs don't sound too bad but it would be stupid of it takes up one of the only two weapon slots you have when it could be replaced by a shotgun or sniper rifle or revolver. And the crossbow might be a good idea because of the stealth element to it.

Cross bow with dynamite (or bow and arrow)

By 1912 did they have any 'good' semi-auto rifles ??

I know that most(all) armies in WW1 used bolt action rifles (so there mustve been some serious reliability issues) . Private arms (as in this game) can be something else, but werent they still having issues with semi-auto clip mechanisms still??

Also was it spelled out (the 2 weapon thing) officially anywhere ? Either way is fine but I dont think I saw a definite answer (which they could just change their mind at any point anyway...)

So far it's been a two weapon system so that what I'm assuming. Unless they change it or say they aren't doing a two weapon system then I'll keep on assuming that. And this is a game it has telekinesis and time-space tears and floating cities, why would you care about whether there are good semi automatic rifles. I'm pretty sure they hadn't made anything like the triple R machine gun until the sten (correct me of wrong).

Unless I'm mistaken it was a limited weapon inventory that was announced, not necessarily a 2 weapon limit. People just assumed it was two as that is the default in Halo, CoD, etc. No clue where that interview is anymore though.

OK Two gun is actually good because it forces you to decide whether to pickup a replacement (and you maybe dont need ammo laying about everywhere in the game).

I care because I want at least an attempt to make it match the period (which they (IG) claim they have made such...) else why not give Booker a hand phaser and be done with it.... It has to do with the magic part being an exception - so standing out as something weird and wonderous, instead of commonplace -- a funny scene would have had Booker on seeing his first weirdness of a 'tear' running in fear (strategic retreat) and falling over the edge.

The Sten fired pistol ammo like most sub-machine guns, so really wasnt in the rifle category (hmm, alot of rifles at start of even WW2 were still bolt-actioned). Bergman submachine guns were used at the end of WW1 (Germans had them for their 'shock' troops in 1918), but again thats a short-ranged weapon too.

Having a seperate slot for a melee weapon would make sense (and/or for the odd thrown object that you periodicly might find).

That would be another 'easy' way for them to randomize/scramble the replay - what weapons you have available at any point.

Scamble the whole game with lots of substitutions (wepons, magic potions, tears, opponents, bosses, props, paths, scene order/options) is what I would hope for - short game that is different every time you play it. But I have a feeling they arent going that far.

Well in the demo you seemed to be only able to carry 2 weapons as the player had to drop one of his two weapons when he wanted to pick up a new weapon. So this means there is a two weapon limit.
