    Team Game Question

    Hello,

    Quick question here.

When you are playing in a ranked team game and both of your opponents quit,
is there a way to keep the win without having to find and beat the AI?

One of the many annoying things about this game (not to mention setting the teams up
    in the lobby correctly).

I don't know much about teams - Is it like that every time? Sounds like one of the other players is not actually leaving the game?

Most of the time both other players leave the game, it is like that every time.

Once you occupy all the caps both team members get the win screen.

OR If one of you quits out the other gets the win screen, but I think you would get the loss even thought he other two quit.

If both opponants quit out and one of the teamates quit the person who stayed gets the win in the rankings but the other teamate wont get a win or a loss. We have been looking to get around this for while and come to the conclusion you just have to take all the caps. Teams is a fun way to play this game but ive found its just more fun to play player matches. Its a pain to get your teamate on your side and freezing or lag outs can really screw up a good game.

Yeah, that's why I don't play teams often. The team assignment process was quite ridiculuous. I'm not sure why Firaxis had this mistaken concept that ranked play for Teams meant each individual had to be assigned randomly. Duh! That's not how the Olympics or any other team sport works. You get to choose your team & may the best team win! Seems so obvious yet somehow, no one seemed to catch this conceptual error in the design process. My guess is since the rankings are by individual, they felt they had to assign individuals randomly in order to provide an even-handed individual team ranking result. Of course, we simply work around it by popping in & out of the lobby until we get the assignment with our preferred teammate but it's a huge demotivator for playing teams. Still they should have predicted this & simply allowed people to assign teams as they saw fit in ranked play too.

But in terms of the team gameplay itself, it's quite excellent. I've generally found it less prone to cheating & freezing due to always being at war. The additional aspects that allow for innovation in terms of strategies & tactics which is why I like it mostly (I love experimenting with new strategies & ideas). P2M2, TyShine, & myself used to mess around with different matchups & there are some pretty wierd combinations that can sometimes be effective unexpectedly.

    best regards,
