    Why Over the shoulder view.

    This is what bothers me with third person shooters these days. Always with the over the shoulder view. Why? It serves no purpose other than to block half of my screen with the character. Who started this annoying ass trend?

    Seriously, next time you guys think Third person shooter, actually use a third person camera, and not this annoying zoomed in block half of the screen camera. Quite literally, you might as well not be a third person shooter with half of your screen missing. You might as well just go first person view, it looks that way anyways, just on the right side of my screen.

    I feel your pain bro. If you zoom in the stupid ots view your head should be ransparent so you can still look arround. I hate the otws view too it's retarded.

    dont agree, sorry.

    me and majority of TPS fans love OTS, most ppl who complain about implemented OTS usally come from Socom fans (1-3) who are stuck in the stone ages.

    OTS is here to stay, you can still hip fire though

    Can't remember the last TPS I played that didn't have OTS, probably Mafia 1/H&D2 and i really didnt like the way your character became invisible when the camera was confined, don't have a problem with OTS and has pretty much been adopted as standard now, never thought half of my screen is blocked.......

    I din't have problems with this OTS view honestly and I think it's well made; also I have appreciated the fact the camera automatically re-position itself after a bit: it's an incredibly useful solution especially for games that requires you to hold a button for running.
    Anyway Mass Effect 3 OTS was far worst than this since you couldn't move the camera independently while using guns nor change shoulder view; combine that with a poor cover system and you get the perfect recipe for frustration.
    The only TPS I recall that went beyond OTS view was Future Soldier in its 2010 concept: there you could shoot only in first person.

    I loved socom but it's true, the OTS view is annoying and should be just an option. It blocks the screen and causes players to over adjust one way to compensate for the loss of vision. I think there are more people that dislike the OTS then actually like it from what i have read on a bunch of similar topics on different game forums.

    I agree, having your character centered just obscures your vision of what your aiming at since your character would have to be made invisible at some point to shoot.

    OTS is fine and overall i loved the controls and feeling of character movement. However i was kind of annoyed (and very suprised) that you couldn't swich sides while in hipfire view. What's up with that? In Ghost Recon you need to use that function constantly while "opening corners"

    This control issue is actually the only thing that is holding me back.

    @GimbleFIN

    i agree

    switching shoulders is the most important thing, it should be enabled for hip firing.

    I confirm you can change shoulder view it's done with R3 on SP3 and I suppose it's the same on Xbox.

    No, that wasn't the point, i help you a little bit and quote myself below. What we need is similar type of control that other good 3rd person shooters have. Like Ghost Recon and Uncharted games. In this game you're only allowed to swich view while aiming and that feel kind of odd. That might be a problem gameplaywise
