Yes, you do. I may break out the gl for fun the next time I'm on. I keep at least one gl loadout as a reserve.

Sounds like fun ;D nade matches are the best
That is so true, it is always fun to get that random rez kill during a gl battle. Gl head shots are even better.![]()
Yes they are! But ruined by rez as it only looks like a regular GL kill then :/ oh well, still fun! XD
That's why you use winter blast for the head shot. They don't rez after that.
Ah good point! I shall make a loadout for GL headshots ;D
Go with velocity boost and head hunter. That's all you need. I also like the geyser+vanilla nade combo.
Sounds like a plan![]()
Another thing I like to do just for the fun of it, is use homing grenades. The combo's very simple, hit them with two and then electro bolt them. Outside of "for fun" it's near useless. I think I posted the video in this thread that caused me to try it.
Haha I got some headshots with the WB/GL, pretty funand I don't really like homing grenades but for messing around...possibly ;P
Back on topic...I find rez helps me when someone who doesn't realize I have it thinks they killed me and keeps going then after I Rez I can run and go kill someone else with automatically replenished EVE and ammo....did I mention Rez auto-refills you EVE and ammo?![]()
Yeah some actually rez pretty fast, like the fat guy buck something I forgot his name, he has a southern accent though. He can rez like in less than 5 seconds, and yes its true depending on how the body is positioned the rezee can take a while. Like if the body is sliding or moving or if you die in mid-air, it can take a little bit longer than usual to rez. I've noticed if your body lands like between two things or near an enemy's death trap you won't rez.
Its useless. /thread.
Never used it, never will. No clue why so many people use it cause its just a waste of a slot.
Because theres those that always go out of their way to get a barrel and throw it at you esp while all up in yr face..
No thanks hun, i'll always get back up.
Its definitely useful, but annoying sometimes. However, i wont let it go; theres still a lot of ciders and spammers, and i always plan out where to die (for the most part) so it helps doing so too. Aaaand i always tend to help capture (more) with it.
XD I can see rez has a love hate relationship with alot of people. All in all I'm glad that it's in the game what other game offer's you a second chance?
I've considered using the rez death trap combo a few times. It seem to really only work good in team modes. Like cts or cw. I've never like rez because it never saves me. Once they figure I'm using it they just wait.
I agree that lamesurrection doesn't help you as a player much, but overall, it really wins team games (even if your personal score doesn't improve by it). It happens almost every game that I drop someone with rez and get killed by one of the rezzer's team mates right before or right after the rez, when I would have been far away and safe if they didnt have rez. And if you face a team of elegun clones (you know, 90% of PC level 50's: electro + elegun, rez and maybe a tk+ sawnoff shotgun or grenades for backup) who stick close to each other, rez really makes it difficult to beat them.
Edit: just thought about something that can make this problem smaller. I often focus so much on the player that is rezzing, that when a team mate attacks me, I just wait around for getting the rezzer first. Like: "No way that you are going to escape, I got you and I will finish you!". I guess it's much smarter to concentrate on taking down the team mate first in situations like this, and then get the rezzer.. Hm, gonna try to be more conscious about playing this way..
I don't know why nobody has ever tried waiting in the corner for the rez to appear or using houdini to stand on the corpse. I use the latter all the time drains my eve but it's worth it if I get the kill and sometime's even get to kill the guy that would have snuck up on me
So the death drop was what you were doing today. I saw you kneeling on someone (in houdini/on death came) and wondered what was up. By the way good game it was fun. I'm considering using rez in my ak loadout but feel that it would just be as waste of a slot.
I remember my first encounter with Rez. It was Mercury Suites and I had just killed this level 40 player (got lucky I did. Think I was level 4 or something). I didn't see his name when he "died". I was like wtf, so I wait and he pops back alive and kills me. I started using a melee on rezzers after I saw another player do it. Still hate rez but I hate death trap more.
Yeah, you really shouldnt pay too much attention with the rez. What i mostly did is drop them and instantly leg up or AD to check if its save. If it isnt kill the other player thats near you ( hold in mind of the rez timer ) and when you see its up, going up / near to up. Quickly stand on him AD him, shotgun to the face, what ever to just quickly finish him off.
Mobility and being aware of your surrounding is a big part of this. ( sounded very sensei lol )
I really cant see the advantage of rezzing these few times succesfully instead of taking a diffrent tonic to make you not die ... instead of counting on that you will die and then hope you'll rez.
If you aren't paying close attention to me when I rez and instead are off trying to kill someone that would have stopped you, you are already too late to get the point from meThere is only about 1 second in between the start of the rez and the point I can kill myself. If you aren't ready at that exact moment, no point for you. There are a number of suicidal players now so now the best strategy to do when any player is rezzing is to assume they will suicide and try your best to interrupt them. I honestly think I can say there are more players nowadays (out of those who use rez) who suicide, then those who use it simply for a second chance.
Also the only advantage of rez (minus the few lucky occasions) is to suicide. Any player that's good enough to kill you should be smart enough to spot a rez and as such they will be prepared to take you out before you can. So really if you use rez without the intention of suicide, you are completely relying on your attackers to be interrupted by your team before they can finish off the kill (a rare situation unless you are always grouping).
You can suicide all you want. Wont make it less useless of a slot.
If you need to use last resort tactics like that im about 95% sure that the game is already lost for you and your team.
The only thing I can think of using rez for is if your very self-destructive. I mean killing yourself with a barrel or the GL on accident. It would be a second chance. Still over time you should develop the skills to not destroy yourself. I still think rez nor death trap don't belong in sotf. Simply because if your not taking pictures death trap won't often get you. If you wait when the body drop you can get a quick rez kill. I think that's one of the reason I still use the grenade launcher. To snuff out those rez users.
I disagree. Using it to suicide is about its only usefulness. Plus most people who use it for that purpose don't use it as a last resort tactic, rather they use it from the very beginning to slow the other team's score. Heck I even do it occasionally when my team has a tremendous lead. Especially if I know players on the other team hate it![]()
When I first encountered this tonic I hated it and thought it was super unfair. But after I got accustomed to it and learned how to deal with it and expect it I really like that its in this game. I think it just adds so much to the uniqueness and general "wackiness" of bioshock multiplayer. Like what other game gives you a second chance?!
Pitching the idea that any time your killed you can come back to life immediately with no affect on k/d ratio for any other multiplayer game would provoke accusations of madness.
But for Bioshock I think its brilliant!![]()
I have a love/hate relationship with rez. I love stomping people who don't know how to use it properly, and I hate people who suicide with it. And what's more, I ran into an aimbotter last night who literally blew my head off everytime he went to resurrect. I stood BEHIND him and he still immediately scored a headshot with the elephant gun.
When I notice a ton of people using rez, I just pour on the winterblast. Or, if it's just me and one person, I'll take em down and then stand on their body to keep them from rezzing. It's my way of saying "Stay the ☺☺☺☺ down, worm."
Personally, I never use it because it's just not worth it. That and there's too many cheap things you can do with it.
I think people who use rez, will never be top tier players in my eyes. It knocks them down a peg, no matter how good they are.
Matter fact I take back my 1st post on this thread.I hate rez users because they take away the honor of an earned kill by Suicide nadding,or rez quitting when they are constantly get killed.Personally,I hate having to wait to wrench them and getting my kill stolen by the next guy or have his teammate come to his rescue for failing to kill me or anyone else that kills them.
Yep. Face it, there are three uses for rez:
1. Suiciding
2. Leaving during rez so you don't *GASP* get a death on your stats (ZOMG the humanity!)
3. Nutsack clinging team stackers that know they'll be saved by their hand holding teamies
As I have no respect for any of those play styles, it definitely downgrades my opinion of them as a player. It isn't even a conscious thing. Subconsciously, as soon as I see them going down with the obvious "going to rez" death animation, my brain just goes and thinks "oh, one of those." Is it fair? Maybe not 100% of the time. But most the time, it's dead on.
Oh no, don't get me wrong, I personally do not use the Resurrection tonic. Multiple people have used that statement to justify their use for it. I for one, am skeptical about it. Seems like a drowned out excuse for blatantly ignoring the chances for escaping death other then the stupid ones.
In my eyes, it's an unprofessional reliance on a luck based factor. This just puts into question your ability to consistently perform well.
