So, im expanding my bioshock collection, CE, figures etc etc, im not a scholar on bioshock and theres alot of things that i dont know, im kind of a noob in a way.

I love the game so much but theres things that i forgot, so it would be hipocrasy to have a big bioshock collection and not know above average knowledge about the story etc.


I bought the hardbook cover of the book and my plan is, Reading the book, and playing the 2 games, so i can absorve everything all over again.

I will be methodic in my gaming so i can see things and learn all the trivia that we sometimes dont see, like posters etc.

Soooo my question is, do the Game guides only give information about achivements, weapons etc or are they like an Atlas..with all the interesting points like some easter eggs, hidding posters, more world information, i would like to absorve the biggest information possible, and not just make a run of the games all over again.

They are like an atlas. They are a must have for you. It shows the locations of all the audio logs, which tell alot of the lore. Good maps, nice posters, awesome pictures, tips on how to obtain the secret tonics/plasmids, and plot break downs. It doesn't show you locations of the posters, but that's the fun part. Searching every nook and cranny. Also, spend some time on the Cult of Rapture wiki. Enjoy.

Its more fun to actually discover them for yourself. Set the difficulty down and wander around alot more. The map will indicate areas that you havent reached (and secret compartments).

It is more fun to locate each of the audio diaries normally. I'm close the finding all of them on the first game. Getting all of the the second's audio diaries has been a challenge for me, but I'm working on it.

As for the guides, they are worth the money. The maps, and tips for all the areas are great for help on the harder difficulties.
The wiki's are also a great place to grab info you may miss in the games.

I've played them both several times now but as I'm on a new profile I started them both again. The first play through was set to hard to get the achievement and a proper gaming experience when I go back on them later I'll put it to easy and have a proper explore. There are few games more beautiful than Rapture. I would also recommend the Bioshock wiki as there's a wealth of information on there and it's always an interesting read.
