What Are You Playing in May?

Since Bastion was 60% off, I have started this month by playing...well...Bastion. I had played a little it before (the Google Chrome browser version--effectively a demo which one can pay to unlock) but after playing through a few of the levels, I definitely see what all the hype has been about.

Come next week, I will turn my gaze back towards Portal 2 once the Perpetual Testing Initiative goes live.

  2. Birds of Steel. It's phenomenal! Quite hard to master with a simple controller on both Realistic & Simulator difficulties... Time to get me one of those Saitek Aviator Flight Sticks later this month.

I'm not a FPS wargamer, but I couldn't resist Battlefield 3 for $20 when Best Buy had a one day sale this week. I'm sure I'll be spending some time checking that out.

I also grabbed Rayman Origins and have been trying my hand at it.

But the game I'm mainly playing at the moment is Awesomenauts. It's my first online battle arena game, but I really dig the 80's vibe and relatively simple controls/mechanics. I'm not very good, but I'm having fun.

Played through the first Chapter of the Walking Dead, was good not sure if I'm going to get every chapter but worth checking out. Trying to get Skyrim rolling again started up as an Argonian hope to make a dent in it before Max Payne drops.

I have recently turned my attention back to my PS3, and specifically have been playing bits of Metal Gear Solid 2 HD. Of all the Metal Gear games, this one is probably my least favorite, but I'm still enjoying playing through it.

Max Payne 3 on 360, technically impressive but a chore to play.

Lumines ES On Vita, picked up cheap and not normally the sort of thing i would buy but its quite good.

Spec ops demo on 360, really enjoying it, looking forward to the retail.

Getting new Ghost Recon tomorrow, shame the tactical gameplay has been watered down but reading good thing s about the SP campaign.

Thought the walking dead was great but will wait for price drop.

Playing Nexuiz on Steam, it caters to my old-schoolness. First Cryengine3 game I've played besides Crysis 2, I'd have to say I can't wait for more MP games to come out with that engine. It is smooth as silk.

Bought Two Worlds 2 a while back on a Steam sale, it just decided to actually work recently. So far I am loving the magic system.

Bounce back/forth between Kingdoms of Amalur and Skyrim. My dream game would be a mix of these two.

As always, my bread and butter game... The Rift.

@Muskel - damn how do you find time to play all those life-consuming games! I'm jealous a bit, still have barely done much in Skyrim.

I have beaten Max Payne 3, was fun ride. Have spent 5 hours in Legend of Grimrock - really good game enjoying so far. I think I can even see myself going through again with a different party which says a lot

Carpe Diem brah. I will sleep enough when I'm dead.

I always have to fight the urge to buy every new game that is out, and try to do some research before buying. I'm too lazy for research, and that's why this forum thing is good. I listen to what you true gamers say about games. Like Max Payne for instance, I'm just not sold. Grimrock...it's a matter of time before I have that one.

I'm playing a lot of Diablo II lately, because my computer can't handle Diablo III.

Probably check out my old games again, maybe have another go at Paper Mario and go through some 360 games I haven't played in years. That's what I usually do during the summer break.

Yesterday I played the first few missions of Splinter Cell: Conviction, which I haven't played since I was in the 7th grade. Does it stay true to Splinter Cell? No... but it was still a good game if you ask me.

May's almost over, but it's been dominated by Diablo III for me, trying to get through Batman: AC, and the occasional LoL match.

When does Hitman come out? I want to play that, if not maybe M.U.L.E. on my Atari 130XE

All summer is for me is a long trip down memory lane, mainly because they are all almost exactly the same.

Winter this year, if it doesn't slip again, which it probably will....

Enjoying Ghost Recon, shame the squad controls have gone but the gameplay is pretty good and once you get the gadgets it becomes quite tactical, like the option of going in guns blazing or using stealth.

Somehow, I forgot to mention Diablo 3. Prolly cause my wife is hogging it. My normal character is lvl 24, and have been playing it quite a bit.

I LOVE Super Meat Boy, the game is so fun, so addicting, and so maddening frustrating. 100% all the levels and probably the one game I did all the achievements for that I'm most proud with. Was around 1700 on xbl leaderboards (that's with a bunch of glitchers/hackers) when I finished it up. Really can't say enough good things about that game but just be warned it will have your hands hurting and nerves shot if you go far enough into it.

I just finished Legend of Grimrock, highly recommend checking that game out, next is Harley Quinn DLC for Batman and then not sure!

Yeah, Meat Boy has been great so far. I'm about a quarter of the way into Hell now, and the levels are taking me much longer than before...

Finished Ghost Recon, not bad at all and one of the best co op games I've played for a while, missed having squad controls & hardest difficulty needed to be more challenging, though elite does mean if you are downed you restart the last checkpoint so you cant run & gun. there's still plenty of tactical gameplay particularly if you work on completing the challenges, has very good weapon customisation options with as much tweaking and tuning as you could want.

Very different from its roots and purists will probably hate it but it's far from a COD clone (seems to be applied to any military shooter these days ) stealth plays a big part in most missions and the gadgets you get do give you squad options even if they are very limited, AI does a good job though.

  29. In May I was playing Darkness II and then Battleship at beginning of June, finished that one real quick.
