Thread: Great to see you in person Ken Levine

  1. #1

    Hi,

I just wanted to reach out to Mr Levine (not sure if you'll see but it's worth a shot.) The panels you were involved in, at PAX East, where very interesting. I always enjoy hearing about the inner workings and challenges faced with games development.

Anyway, I was hoping to be able to have some kind of a dialog with you and find out some insight into your staff, especially in regards to the role of a graphic designer plays at your studio. But I quickly realized after the talk, that this wasn't going to be conducive environment for that. None the less it was cool to say hi and hear you talk. I am still curious to find out more in regards to the roll of graphic designers in the gaming world (this goes to anyone inside or out side of irrational.) I'd like to know what kind of talent is on full time staff and what there job responsibilities look like. Are there in house designers working on promotional material, web graphics or even UI?

Any info would be welcome! I've been working as a designer for several years, working on a lot of video game tie-in products, movie giftware and DJ equipment packaging; and at this point i'm really interesting in getting closer to the the actual game production side of things.

Hope everyone had fun in Boston! Happy Easter!

    Cheers,

    Asher

    This might help

For anything further, the forums are probably a bad place to get the staff's attention. PM those with IG in front of their name or use the link below for more specific questions

    Welcome to the forum, asher!

As laforza pointed out, a forum thread may not be the best way to get the info you want, particularly since you already have professional experience.

The vague title probably isn't helping either, since you have a very specific request. If you'd like, I can edit it to more clearly describe your question. Say, "Graphic Design work at Irrational Games?" or something similar. Feel free to respond here or PM me if you'd like the change made.
