Thread: Will this game have a demo?

  1. #1

Since it was pushed back until october is this game going to have a demo? So we can see if this game is worth it or not?

It would be neat to see a demo available, especially to try out the game's control and level mechanics, but they still never mentioned if one will be available yet, especially this early. Also, whatever dates mentioned from stores and sites were mostly placeholders, because up until the October date, IG never mentioned or hinted on any kind of legitimate date, other than just 2012.

Before anyone takes the bait, let me point out two things:

    1) nathangolliday made the same erroneous statement about the game being "pushed back" last January, and the truth was explained to him back then

    2) he creates threads....but never revisits them

    Draw your own conclusions.

    Worth it?

Since when has anyone purchased anything from irrational games that was not top shelf?

To sidestep slightly, I really hate it when you download a demo from the ps3 store then cannot buy the full game from the store.

Just to play devil's advocate, I've often wondered just how many people have based their entire opinion of Irrational on a single game (BioShock). I'll admit I normally don't follow studios, so it wasn't until BioShock that I went back and realized I was a fan of Irrational (mainly due to Freedom Force 1+2--both terribly fun games with a great retro vibe). Then again, to paraphrase an old saying, "You're only as good as your last game." BioShock Infinite will either cement their reputation in their huge new fanbase's eyes, or ruin it. I don't envy them the pressure. But I have faith they will turn out something really special.

The game was pushed back. February was the plan they had no multiplayer, so they pushed it back to October.

Your mistaken it was never officially pushed back as their was never official release date. If your going by Gamestop's first release date that is to drive preorders from people who don't know any better about when the game is actually releasing.

Felonious, your comment was profoundly true on soo many levels about "people" that don't know any better.

Couldn't have said it better myself

  12. This nathangolliday guy seems like an idiot. The February release date was fake to get preorders and to make them moneyz. October was the only official one they released. And from the gameplay demo we've seen the game looks more than "worth it" it looks amazing. And his talk about games needing online is complete BS. Look at assasins creed 2 and 1, mass effect 2 and 1, bioshock. They were great and amazing games that sold well, and no multiplayer. And more recently look at skyrim that game was one of the rope sellers of 2011 and it had no multiplayer. So your comment are in justified and ludicrous. Sure multiplayer is a gun side dish but it's not comelwtelu necessary for good sales at all. Just steams my beans stuff like this.

This isn't a thread that needed to be revived. It's more about arguing than about the topic of a demo. Someone can start a new demo thread when we get closer to release (say, 2013).
