I decided to start this thread partly because I've become somewhat obsessed with taking screenshots of the fantastical BioShock universe, and even more so now that I've gone outside the boundaries with the Console Commands. There's so much more to see in this magnificent game, it would be selfish of me not to share my screenshots and invite others to post there's as well. Would you kindly also explain where it is (if not obvious) and describe why it stood out to you, what you like, the story behind it, etc.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

View of the Plane Crash from the top of the Lighthouse. You can see there's a tiling affect to the water.

This is actually a screenshot of the Big Daddy you see with the Little Sister in the tunnel next to you before you go into "Dr. Steinman's Aesthetic Ideals" and Steinman blows up the entryway. I used the Ghost command and went through and he's actually a fully interactive Big Daddy! And not only did I kill him, but I was able to harvest/rescue the Little Sister. The second photo shows him from the original tunnel you're in before you enter after he's killed.

This is the Rosie you see welding in one of the tubes on your way down to Rapture in the Bathysphere from the Lighthouse. Since you don't have any weapons you couldn't interact with it but it just stood there doing it's duty but without a welding gun/rivet gun! The light from the action of welding is there, though.

    More to come!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also please try to remember to re-size your screenshots before posting. Most photo sharing sites have this option when uploading, but the general size is about 640x480. This keeps the loading time down and do feel free to link to the original or larger size versions of your screenshots. And I'm sure I don't have to mention about asking before you use someone's for your own purpose.

These are more of the gorgeous landscape and city of Rapture. I took these whilst out of the Bathysphere (via Ghost command) as it's descending into Rapture and Andrew Ryan is narrating.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These two are another of the plane crash, but these show the Lighthouse against the water and crash site, and the view of the plane end once it sinks into the water (from under the surface of the water).

I personally think this shot is just stunning, I love the neon and how all the businesses just pop against the water and buildings. I think I'm going to end up making this my desktop!

I like this one a lot too since it shows the city of course. The fishes going by and just the city lights are entrancing. I also wanted to show the city from different angles, like the second one which is showing the city from the bottom-up.

The top one isn't anything fantastic but I liked the fact that I could see the Bathysphere from the outside of it and get a little of the city in too. The second is just more lovely scenery!

These last two are just aerial views of Rapture and more lovely scenery.

I have a few more still awaiting to be uploaded (a rather lengthy process actually when you're doing so many at once) but they'll have to wait. Hope everyone enjoys and cannot wait to see yours too!

Learning the console commands was like getting a second, full game out of BioShock. Ghosting and snapping screenies was a favorite hobby of mine for some time.

I encourage people to post their favorite shots here, but there is also a gigantic thread on the old 2K Forum with tons of amazing pics. If anyone wants to browse, I have quite a few there myself:

    http://forums.2kgames.com/showthread...Video-Gallery.

If anyone is curious about the console commands, I originally discovered them via TweakGuides:

    http://www.tweakguides.com/Bioshock_8.html

Let me dig out a few of my favorite shots....

While others took beautiful shots, I preferred more comedic setups or tableaus.

Film noir, "Who Shot Mr. B?"

    What happened to us?

    Enjoying the view.

How does a Rosie save its favorite table?

    Next....

    Making poor choices.

    One of my favorite shots.

Oh wow, some of those are really fantastic! I love the last one especially but the one with the caption about saving his table made me giggle. I was aware of the thread on the 2K site but I'm not a member there and it didn't seem like we had a dedicated one here so Thanks for linking it though!

Thank you so much for sharing those! It's like BioShock's gag reel

Oh by the way, is there a command or keybind to have the appearance of Jack holding no weapons? I.e so there's no pesky target mark or oddly placed wrench in an otherwise perfect shot?

    Glad you like 'em!

It's been ages since I played around with this, but you can definitely get rid of all extraneous elements. Have you tried HideHUD?

I really haven't tried anything in terms of getting rid of those. I'll look up the different commands again and see what I can find Thank you!

That Tweakguides page I linked to is a great resource.

If you're still having trouble with something, I can dig around on the 2K Forums. We had a help thread where we discussed tips and tricks to get the best shots. There are also tidbits like that scattered all through the big thread I linked to.

My pleasure! I'll see what other shots I have lying around. I hope this thread inspires a few other folks to try out the commands for the first time!

Oh me too This is a link to the site I used to figure out in plain terms how to precisely "do" the console commands - http://www.game-archivist.com/raptur...ole-cheats.php

Might help some other people And of course as we all know you should always save a copy of the original User.ini before tweaking anything. Tweaking 101!

I keep seeing something about SetFOV# that looks like it could be helpful in taking better screenshots, that's really my only confusion.

    (On a side note)

Since I seem to have another sleepless night, I thought it would be amusing to make a screenshot into a funny.

Great thread Lady Poe! Some really great shots, I like the Rosie the Riveter one a lot and Big Daddy Hates Mondays is pretty funny as well.

@Japester - Your poor choices one is really good, as is the last one.

I remember that thread from 2k forums got to be quite lengthy and packed with great shots. Hope this thread kicks off more users here sharing their screenshots. I for one never played Bioshock on PC but this and the ability to ghost is one day I'm sure going to tempt me too!

These are actually outside the Bathysphere (when you're really supposed to be inside) of the ensuing fight going on between the Splicer and Johnny. You can see her tear him a new one, and then you know how she goes a scampers off? The strangest thing is that when she climbs on top of the Bathysphere and starts scratching at it etc., it's actually just her sitting there atop, and it's shaking on its own! And even later after you see her run off the 'clone' still stays, only to disappear once you're supposed to exit the Bathysphere (if I'm remembering correctly, that is).

    (Full-Size) http://oi51.tinypic.com/4ronk4.jpg

These are basically from inside a wall where I observed a Little Sister returning to her hidey-hole. She actually only goes about a third of the way down before she disappears!

At the bequest of our dear Felonious, I happily took these to satisfy his twisted lust for the in-depth guts and gore of Rapture's finest (that I'm sure we've all fallen prey to now and again), and to quite possibly bring him over to the dark side that is PC gaming

Andrew Ryan casually playing golf before you enter the room, triggering the cut-scene.

    (Full-Size) http://i55.tinypic.com/2r40hds.jpg

Andrew Ryan again being his eerily casual self as Rapture crumbles behind him, but after you trigger the dialogue.

    (Full-Size) http://i52.tinypic.com/31479ub.jpg

Andrew Ryan once you've unwillingly bludgeoned him to death. Gore biscuits anyone?

    (Full-Size) http://i55.tinypic.com/16a4k8k.jpg

This is of Dr Steinman before you technically enter his room and before everything is triggered.

    Happy Travels Felonious!

I love the Tennessee Ale one, really makes you feel like you're underwater. How far can you ghost around? Can anyone check the views from the tops of different skyscrapers?

I spent a lot of time outside the windows looking in like that. It's all the more creepy when splicers are wandering around and seem to be peering outside.

The ghosting varies. In that particular location, if I'm remembering correctly, there are the rocks outside the window, the bubbles, a wavy filter, then a flat backdrop containing the buildings in the background. I'm probably as far as I can get with that shot. I'd say that was typical. Just enough exists outside the windows to give the illusion of depth.

Most of the skyscrapers don't exist, at least not in any way that you could photograph them. Nabbing them during the opening cutscene, like ladypoe did up above, is the best opportunity, IMHO.

You can get a little height above Medical:

And here is another angle on that Ale shot.

    Truth in advertising.

It's not pretty, but I was fascinated by views that "broke" the model.

I occasionally dabble in frame-by-frame animation when I get the free time, and this is comprised of several screenshots of the Gatherer's Garden you encounter in the Medical Pavilion that's tipped over (I believe it's also where you acquire the Telekinesis plasmid). It may look simple but animation is never as simple as it looks.

I love those shots japester! I feel like yours have such a story to them!

And I know most of the times with ghosting I've found that there is some eventual "limit" or "boundary", for example if you just keep going and going when you're in the "ocean" part of the game you'll eventually stop somewhere.

I love how sometimes you'll go out a window or a wall and see other sections of that level!

@ladypoe, fan of the Ryan and Steinman shots. Now you just need to get the greatest one of them all Sander Cohen!!!

Really liking this thread! I think Japester's one of above the Medical Pavilion atrium is my favorite. I love the detail and the shape of the building.

@ragingmudcrab The actual image on my computer is much better quality and it was terribly difficult to find an uploader that didn't completely screw up the frame timing or reduce the quality so much. I generally use TinyPic but it just kept shrinking it so much that I went over to Photobucket (even though they're the same company, they're quite different). It took a few tries but I eventually settled on this quality

@felonious More bidding! I will try soon, your Majesty, to get some for your sick pleasure Paint your walls while I'm at it

Glad everyone's liking the thread! Will upload some more shots soon after low tea.
