I know that not everyone at Irrational Games is evil. However, whoever runs the PR/ Promotional Department might just be. My reason for saying this is simple. They made me join Twitter. I swore I would never join Twitter but when Irrational Games had the Sky-Hook Prototype giveaway and the only way you could put your name in for it was to Re-Tweet well whats a fan to do other then break down and sign up. So thanks Irrational Games for helping me join the dark side. On the plus side if ya'll have anymore giveaways I'll be ready to Re-Tweet and maybe double my odds.

You could just never use twitter ever again. Although, I did say the same about facebook... That didn't go quite as planned...

I haven't. All I did was sign up and repost so I could be put in the drawing. I said the same about myspace and facebook. My wife set both of those up for me but I was still on them every day.

    All advertising is evil.

Sidenote: I'm actually kinda turned off by how Infinite is being pushed. I mean I understand why it's being done in the way it is, but I keep feeling that when this game lands it'll be a fairly known quantity, and in the meantime having these breadcrumbs laid out in front of me feels demeaning.

I'd much rather rock a single big reveal video, and then a year full of promo materials based off of that one. With Irrational, every game is a shut up and take my money situation, so poking at me with new information actually just annoys me haha.

I dunno. I think teasing the audience is ☺☺☺☺ behavior.

It's hard to promote a game, sun. They need to show some good info for people to buy their games, lamentably not everyone will say: "Shut up and take my money", so they need to release some good, big info to get as many people as possible interested in the game.

It's just business. A business that we all enjoy!

He's right though, there should be another way to do that stuff.

It is not evil. It is the way the world works. Companies have little time to persuade anyone of anything. The more people a company can reach, the more sales it can generate. As a business guy, I can tell you IG is doing the right moves. They just need to push out a downloadable demo.

Lolz. You make it sound like you are being blackmailed. It seems like you have an empty void in your soul that only a sky-hook can fill T_T.

I am actually quite amused by their twitter posts usually. Some fun retweets as well.

I do feel a liitle like i'm being blackmailed. I mean most of the contest (IE the only other one IG had before the Sky-Hook give away) all you had to do was put your name in the hat for a chance, but if you wanted to you could re-tweet to double your chances. So when IG posted that the only way to enter period was to re-tweet, I kninda felt shamed. I'm pretty sure the contest was a conspiracy to get the only person left on the planet between the age of 10 & 70 without a twitter account to join twitter.

@ blahz7 Your completly right. I do have an empty void in my soul and a sky-hook (which I'm pretty sure I was suppose to win) would help start to fill that void.

Eh, twitter's not so bad. It may grow on ya! Personally, it connects me to people in the industry, which is far more interesting than the people I'm currently involved with working in construction. But that's just me.
