I thought Booker was in his 30's
Booker seems really awesome, for god's sake, his name is BOOKER DEWITT, what the hell ?! I must say I got insanely pumped from hearing "Nothing gained, nothing ventured !" the first time around, he seems like a really cool character for what little we've seen of him.
Also, by looking at the E3 demo, it is OBVIOUS that Booker is attracted to Elizabeth, the way he holds her head before she moves it to her neck is a dead-ringer, it doesn't help that Levine was as subtle as a german tank when asked about the relationship with Elizabeth.
And hello everyone, first post on the forum, hope I can make some great "Bioshock-Levine-loving friends" up in this b*tch.

Welcome feliciano!Glad to have some more good conversation pieces and another pair of eyes out there on the web to communicate with us what you see on this amazing upcoming game. Word of etiquette, though, get a profile picture. It'll make you look good and it'll make it easier to take you seriously. Sometimes I only read a post because I know someone by their profile pic and I've learned that's a person who makes good/funny posts, some of my personal favorite posters being pixelshock, ragingmudcrab, felonious and roguewriter.
Glad to have you and hope to see you become a dedicated forum member fellow Bioshock fan!
I too go looking for individual pics when I'm scrolling through comments, making sure not to miss the good posters. Or upon seeing certain pics taking a deep cleansing breath and finding my happy place. Then hitting the quote button and getting to work.
Thanks guys ! Will try to solve that issue shortly.
In the meantime, let us keep rejoicing in the awesomeness that is Mr. DeWitt !
Hell Yes. Move over Jack and Delta, there's a new player in town. And he ain't alone...

Damn straight !
Seriously, was there EVER a character in any fictional media whose former career was as a PINKERTON ?
I hadn't even heard of that agency before I knew about this game.

Elizabeth will develop feelings for Booker if he does things that are morally right and kind (ex. postman situation). Also by rescuing her from Songbird on multiple occasions she will fall for him.
Probably after the player does a number of morally right things Elizabeth will eventually ask if Booker sees her more than as just an associate. If the player chooses and answer like
"Now Miss Elizabeth, are you saying you have a crush on a certain crush on someone?" (flirty)
or
"Definitely, Perhaps more than just a friend as well" (more straight forward)
Elizabeth will act more lovingly towards Booker, and will become more flirtatious around him.
This cycle repeats until Elizabeth eventually comes out and says she loves him.

Do you play Dragon Age?![]()
chrisredfield said:And does anyone know if this is official art from Irrational? Or just something that was made up by EGM?
That's what I want to know. Can we say for sure that these are the official ages of Booker and Elizabeth?
PS: I'm really digging Booker's hair and outfit in that cover picture.
Yup, it's official Irrational artwork. I would assume all of the information on the wanted posters can be considered canon.
I was doing a bit of research, and found a physicist named Bryce DeWitt...and more interesting is the fact that he was one of the first physicist to propose a "Multiverse" , that is, our world is maybe only one in a INFINITE possibilities of worlds.

Oh, so you mean like it's a Dating Sim?

Awesome find, Booker DeWitt may very well be a nod to the physicist.
@vsharres - can you post a link?

Although , Levine on his Twitter answer that question already:
@IGLevine How did you come up with the name Booker DeWitt?
@AaronFGM Just kind of came to us. But we were focused on the kinds of names Americans had back then, lots of Dutch and English derivations

The detail in this game is gonna kill me !
Is it just me or does the magazine cover of Booker and Elizabeth remind you of the x-men comic cover of Days of Future Past with Wolverine and Kitty Pryde even down to the brick wall alleyway with the wanted posters if the artist meant to do it nice touch if not well then my geekyness is showing.
You are correct about the cover, Ken confirmed the inspiration via Twitter.

Ken has let it slip once or twice his comic book knowledge.
He even agreed on the similarities between Elizabeth and The Scarlet Witch on a GiantBomb interview.
Booker looks like a hunk. XP

Wouldn't be the first time a videogame character has turned me on. ;D *cough* Ezio *cough*
I was playing Freedom Force (its awesome, everybody should play it) and one of the villains is named Mr.Mechanical.But what is interesting is that his actual name is Clyde Dewitt...Not that him has anything to do with Booker, but since Ken wrote both games, is at least some kind of reference.
I personally think that Booker looks awesome, and that irrational did a great job on designing him, just sayin....

I'll agree with you when we finally see him in flesh/pixels ^^

wanna see him in flesh? Just look at my profile pic! lol haha, all seriousness though, i'm not sure if were going to be able to see him in the game or not. i'm kinda doubting it because they want to make the game feel more "personal" so i'm thinking they might not show him often, if not at all.
That's an interesting question..I agreed that they may not show him often, but they must show him more than Jack did in the first Bioshock.Booker has a personality of his own, so for you to actually see him it would not be such a bad idea.Something tells me that me may look at Booker in the very beginning of the game, and after that again in the ending.

You mean almost like what they did with delta in bioshock 2?
If they have any mirrors (they did that even in Duke Nukem 15+ years ago) or with somewhat better rendering effects reflections in windo panes and the like.
That besides a view of his arms/hands carrying a weapon or drinking a magic potion....
This is what I had in mind. Or they can offer you the gift to posess or view through the eyes of Lizbeth or an enemy temporarily?

possibly...
I definitely want to be able to see him in the game, but i dont want to see him often nor do i want to see him very good. i would still like for him to remain a bit mysterious.
