Loved the game, go all the in game riddler challenges, but not so much into the challenge rooms.

Nice Felonious. Definitely enough to do in the game to keep you busy for a while, that's for sure. I've completed the game as well as NG+, and found all Riddler Trophies. I'll agree that they were a lot better this time around - Instead of just running around picking things up you had some (albeit fairly simple) puzzle solving to do first.

I've also completed all the combat challenges for all the characters, as well as a few of the predator for Batman to see if I liked them any better than I did in AA. Nope. I loved the combat rooms tho. I even had probably 3-4 challenges for each character that I ended up in the top 10 on the leaderboards. At the time anyway, probably not so high anymore. My preference for the characters - 1) Nightwing, 2)Batman, 3) Catwoman, 4) Robin. Nightwing was a lot of fun to use once you get used to him, but the only I didn't like about any other characters (which almost had rank Batman #1) is that none of them can destroy anything. That was a main part of strategy throughout the game and challenges w/ Batman, and definitely makes you feel that much more like a beast during combat... which I guess is fitting that only he can do it.

But predator challenges still just annoy me. Its like pulling teeth. Only reason I finally managed to get myself up to do them in AA was for the 1000/1000, and I'm sure I'll eventually get to that in AC, but man there's just something about them that I cant stand. Its not that they're difficult, the few I've completed anyway have been relatively easy. Just not fun. At all. The opposite of fun, in fact. But I'll get the 100% eventually I suppose.

As far as what Rocksteady is going to do next, I have faith that whatever it is, they'll do it right. I'll admit I was a bit skeptical of AC before playing it, wasn't sure if AA was something they got lucky with and would totally screw up the sequel. But they proved themselves and improved on AA in virtually every single aspect, which was impressive. One thing I'd say we could expect in the next game tho, since we haven't seen it at all yet and it's one of the only things I cant think of that they haven't done - Vehicles. Hopefully, anyway. Who wouldn't wanna drive the Batmobile?

I easily put over 100 hours into the game, agree with Batman's break weapon combo being awesome. I think I rate him 3 on my list cause was a learning curve doing the challenges first with him. I think we can agree Robin sucks , predator was very hard with him. Hear you about the predator challenges being difficult for some absurd reason enjoyed them and went back to AA to do theirs, sucks I missed the party pooper achievement at the end of AA so to get a complete game would have to run through to right before the Joker for it. One thing I hope for in the next game is a better designed open world, the horseshoe designed layout with the tower blocking one end from another was a bit annoying.

@spata, props for being top ten in some of the challenges was able to get around 400 to 500 rank few times, just got the medals and moved on though.

Great game. I loved the fighting style of it, and the monochrome-ish city looked beautiful with the snow and the searchlights.

It looked a lot like Basin City, the city the movie Sin City takes place in. Sin City is my favorite movie.

Anyway, the ending was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the game all the way through. Definitely a good addition to my game collection.

Enjoyed it a lot, and it appealled to my obsessiveness when it came to finding all of the riddler trophies.

I don't know where they could go next though, or even if they should.

@felonious I got the idea that Azreal's message was a hint on what's to come in Batman 3. Also, I really hope they release the next Batman as a next-gent title and for it to carry the same vibe as the Samaritan demo

As for the challenge maps, completing almost all of them, I was hoping them to be well more challenging. This applies to the characters. In the combat challenges, obtaining all 3 medals per map relies on one formula, stun, rapid attacks and knockout then rinse and repeat.

@spata I like where you're going with the Batmobile.

I'm def down to play some more Arkham City!

Good stuff, thanks for the link. The best part is it actually seems like it might be a legit story DLC instead of some more lame challenge room stuff

Yeah a few other sites and the achievement listing hints that it looks like you will be playing as Robin during a story based DLC involving Harley Quinn

  10. #50

Yep. Of course it has to be Robin tho lol, the worst of all the playable characters. Still lookin forward to it

Heh, yeah maybe he will play better in a campaign than he does in the challenge maps. Keeping my fingers crossed if the DLC sells well or maybe its in the works for a NightWing DLC to come cause that would be AWESOME!

I have Arkham City sitting around in my pile of 360 games, but still haven't even put it in the console.

  13. #53

Ha you should do yourself a favor and get on that. They took everything that was done well in Asylum and made it better.

@felonious def agree about NightWing, that'd be great to play. It'll be interesting to see how big this DLC is and how much freedom they give you

  14. Great news! GOTY confirmed.

    The content in full:

    - The DLC included on disc includes the Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack and Arkham City Skins Pack.

    - Maps: Wayne Manor, Main Hall, Freight Train, Black Mask, The Joker's Carnival, Iceberg Long, and Batcave.

    - Playable Characters: Catwoman, Robin and Nightwing.

    - Skins: 1970s Batsuit, Year One Batman, The Dark Knight Returns, Earth One Batman, Batman Beyond Batman, Animated Batman, Sinestro Corps Batman, Long Hallowe'en Catwoman, Animated Catwoman, Animated Robin, Red Robin and Animated Nightwing.

Excellent! This is exactly what I've been waiting for and I'll gladly pay full price for a full game.

There's also Harley's Revenge, which they say it can be downloadable for those owning the game as soon as April 30th. I can't wait to play this DLC, especially when its being mentioned as the final chapter for Arkham City.

  17. Since us Euros have to wait until 7th September for our version of the GOTY edition, Harley's Revenge will probably be included as well. Which gives me plenty of time to save up!

I saw on many of the sites they have the date as May 30th - http://www.gametrailers.com/side-mis...goty-edition/. I think they made a mistake on the April 30th date unfortunately. Looking forward to more Arkham City! Though with the announcement of the GOTY edition you can pretty much put a nail in the coffin for any future DLC after this. Which is too bad was really hoping for some Night Wing story action!

It's been awhile, I just remember Robin pretty much sucking on the challenge maps. It may not be as bad out in the game world. He has a bullet shield which blocks bullets and some snap flash which you put on an opponent to knock him out. He can't take out enemies walking below a vantage point. I can't remember exactly what else which makes him not that good, just will have to take our word for it!

More details on the Harley Quinn DLC - http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/...-dlc-should-be

  24. #64
Saw that article the other day, def a good read and plenty of great points about DLC in general. Has me looking forward to this even more now. I heard we were gonna play as both Batman and Robin, but I like the flashback idea, playing thru to experience what happened. The writer does pose some good questions tho about much freedom you'll have around the city, or whether you're just confined to a smaller area, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

If you have waited this long, wait for the GOTY edition, coming May 29th (US)

Regarding the combat and stealth room challenges. It's been awhile but, I tried a stealth room challenge but it was combat and then stealth room. Can I just do one type at a time?

The release trailer for the DLC - http://kotaku.com/5911174/harley-qui...ssed-at-batman

@Durandal - Sounds like your doing the campaign challenges which some of them mix up what type of challenge your going to do. Another way to approach the challenges, you can do just one or the other but if you want to the campaign medals and achievements.

    Elsewhere is Sept.

Also, the challenges are best done once you have all upgrades

Some review/impressions of the Harley DLC

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/05/...revenge-review
    http://kotaku.com/5913913/harley-qui...bad-new-ending
    http://www.gameinformer.com/b/featur...pressions.aspx

Most of the reviews are pretty positive, though Kotaku's is a bit critical, both them and IGN's mention the ending not being that great. Probably will have to check this DLC out later tonight.

I read somewhere there are 4 secret, perhaps clues to the next game Easter eggs. People found the Scarecrow one fast. But they said the Easter eggs are hinted at in the trailers. Does anyone know more about this?

I just finished Arkham City, and I think the next game should focus on Villians that aren't really recognized by most people like Egghead, Dr. Docco, The Wizard, Prometheus, or Man-Bat.
