Probably would only want it to have 2 charges (gets too easy if you get lots of reuse) - one to see what it even does, and then a second to use in the best situation (after you wasted it on the first experimental use)

Balloon bomb would be an interesting 'set up' weapon that it would slowly put-put across the scene and it would be up to you to aim it for effect and then be ready to react in the chaos that results when it goes off. Animations of the Splicers looking at it in puzzlement as it sails slowly near them.... (maybe you have to shoot it to detonate it...)

I think they should feel 1/4 your pain when you're attacked, if not, it's like God Mode.

    IDEAS:

Vigors: Helium Vigor: Send your enemies away, with new Helium Vigor!
Slowly makes enemies "fly" up in the air until they die of suffocation. When upgraded, they fly away faster. They still attack. After they die, they come down to Columbia so you can search them

Rumbler: Distract your enemies while they suffer a 10.0 earthquake, while you watch the whole thing!
You can make "earthquakes" which slowly drain health, and get them distracted, unless you shoot them.

Nostrums: Big Daddy: Getting tired of all those Handymen? Hit back harder with Big Daddy!
Take less damage from Hard Hitters. Also deal more damage to them.

Feather-Feet: Oh no! You need to escape quickly, but a Boy of Silence is blocking your exit! What will you do? With Feather-Feet you'll be invisible to them, while your enemies attract them!
B.o.S take longer to notice you. They can notice enemies and get others to attack your enemies.

I dunno, just some ideas feel free for constructive criticism.

    Boxers Nostrum:
Gain the strength of a heavy weight champion!
(Booker does higher damage with the sky hook and weapon melee attacks.)

Bad Gas Vigor: Prepare to be blown away!!!! (literally) Not only does this vigor send your foes sky high, it sets them on fire, turning them into human meteors for any survivors left standing on ground. in addition, Anyone with in a 50 foot radius to tough to be blown up high or withstand the fall, will melt due to your bad gas. P.S this gas is not associated with Flatulence.

Bucking Bronco vigor {Special Edition}: Getting tired of using bucking bronco? Only to see your enemies float freely in the air. Now you can too! Simply drink and Up you go! Reach places you have never been before, or were other wise unreachable, but be careful not to go to high. It lasts long and you can choose to return to the ground at any time during you flight.

Mystery Vigor: All Vigors that can be aquired through the mystery vigor are exclusive, and many things can happen with this vigor. They are the first vigors ever made and are highly unstable but beneficial. There are few of them in Columbia they can alter (reality itself) a myriad of the most complicated and seemingly unresolvable situations, but in what way it does it is a mystery too us all, it never changes things the same way. If you do use this vigor you could find that yourself in a place you a have never seen before, surrounded by valuable loot. It can even stop a war in the streets an make everyone go back to there normal lives. You may even find new buildings in Columbia that have valuable loot. Your luck could change in many good ways yet to be discovered.

Walking Blizzard: The Ice Man Cometh. Drink this vigor and for a time you will freeze foes you walk past with in a 50 ft radius. Tough enemy's will be slowed down.

Simply with his fists would make more sense with that (if they give you that option)

Speed and strength like a trained boxer (limitation of course its only good against opponents within arms length).

Gimmick would be the 'round' bell ring at the start of it and at the termination of it.

    A few that I want.

Combustion: The player does a downward grip motion, bring the tips of his fingers together. Enemies that are highlighted are engulfed in flame that rises from the ground up.

Engulfing Darkness: The player kind of waves his hands up and down sending out a cloud of darkness that has a chance to stun and confuse enemies.

Trail of Dead: The player creates a cloud of noxious fumes that follows the player for a short time. Anything that follows the player becomes diseased, taking extra damage and having their movements interupted at certain intervals.

Decoy: Can be upgraded to carry out the same motions as the player. If the player uses their gun so does the decoy if the player uses Vigors so does the Decoy. Decoy can also be upgraded to explode when the timer runs out.

Shadow Strike: The player is able to teleport directly behind an enemy setting the stage for an attack. Upgrades could leave a small fire where the player teleports from.

Choke: The player is able to pick up a smaller enemy and choke them to death. (think Darth Vader) The animation takes awhile so Booker can be overwhelmed when using this Vigor.

Laser Beam: The player uses both hands to create a concentrated beam of energy. The longer the beam is focused on the target the more damage it does.

Smoke Bomb: The player drops a small smoke bomb that can be used to exit combat or set up tactics. Blinds the player from enemy fire.

Raise Dead: Dead enemies can be born again and for a short time aid the player.

    Shout: Think Skyrim.

Summon: Perhaps each time something different could be brought forth? I would like some sort of Wolf that can distract and occupy foes while Booker takes advantage of the situation.

Web:The player shoots out a web (think spidey man) can tie up or slow enemies be used to twirl them around your head and then let go causing them to crash into their brethren.

Those are a few that I think could be fun to play around with as well as allow for interesting tactical situations.

I thought about having this as well, only instead of smoke, it would create a cloud, that could be charged with SHock Jockey. "Cloud Bomb" has a nice ring to it.

  8. Singularity: Create a highly unstable black hole/portal, which sucks in nearby enemies, helping to take some weight off your soldiers. Only a certain number of enemies can be sucked in before the black hole becomes so unstable that it collapses back on itself. However, the sword is double-edged and the singularity can open up randomly and the enemies can escape and attack you. Number of charges: 1 or 2 (Depending on how strong it is)
Reconnaissance: Using this vigor allows you to see all enemies in the area for a brief period of time (10 second perhaps), giving you the advantage and allowing you to sneak up on them without them knowing.
Entangle: Use this AOE power to slow down enemies, giving you the time to do what you need to do (e.g. Reload, get behind cover etc). Basic enemies are slowed down by 75%, and the effectiveness of the power is reduced as the enemies get stronger (e.g. Bosses would only be slowed down by 20% etc)

Man-o-War: Fire all weapons faster, reload faster, move faster, and just become the embodiment of the fightin' man for a limited time. After -50% to all those because you're worn out.... You could even have Nostrums that lessen the effect....

Didn't Ken confirm that nostroms were cut? i saw it in an interview( i think with revision 3) there's gear instead now. In terms of a vigor i would want:

Tidal wave: hurl a deluge forward and knock back all enemies and objects forcibly, also makes them wet for shock jockey. i think it would be cool to see the water react with the environment and physics realistically.

Rebel yell: inflict some sort of fear effect on all enemies in area, i guess alt fire could be to strengthen Booker and Elizabeth

Hell freeze: have deadly ice spike rise from the ground to impale enemies or freeze those not directly hit. I think this would work well with the alt fire trap motif that Ken mentioned

Shadow puppets: make shadowy copies of Booker to confuse and and distract enemies, it could upgrade where they can actually attack and damage foes

Eye of the storm: make a mini twister to sweep up enemies and objects, great for crowd control

Drop shock: jump down and land powerfully creating a damaging tremor, again great for managing crowds of enemies. can't think of a good alt fire.

Overgrow Vigor: Summon vicious vines from the ground to grip and choke your enemies. Set on fire for dramatic effect.
(Can be upgraded for thorns, and the possibility to hold the trigger for continued growth.)

Night Spheres Vigor: Fire black, all-consuming blobs at your foes and hinder their movement. Electrocute for increased growth.
(Think The Incredibles. Can be upgraded for bigger blobs with stronger holding capabilities.)

..and of course something with water, to match Electro Bolt, Incinerate and Winter Blast.

EDIT: Killing time, so here's my Overgrow concept:

Heaven's Gate Vigor: Ignite a shining light in your fist, and fire energetic beams of light at your foes.
(Starts as a red laser, becomes green when upgraded, to signify the higher frequency and therefor higher energy. Violet when fully upgraded. Will shine a white light when equipped, useful to lighten up dark areas.)

Slip'nslide- make your enemies fall and you go faster (like in portal 2)

Nicely done and thought, I like your illustration btw. But from which plasmid advert was it taken actually?

A vigor that makes you throw lumps of tar would make more sense hence the slowing. Add feather crows on top of it, and... what do we got? ^^

Thanks, I believe the user is taken from Sonic Boom, while the woman is from Cyclone Trap.

Possibly, but the spheres would look much cooler, imo ^_^
(That's why I though of making a plasmid with them in the first place)

One issues I have is the excessive mutation on both hands when the vigor is used

  18. #338
I think the incinerate was replaced by Devils Kiss.

Thats what Elizabeth is for, she does all that change time stuff for you.

    maybe its appealing to women?

I was very pleased to see that the fire vigor is a lob shot. That's a good way to further differentiate it from the eletric vigor.

Are we showing off are Vigor ideas? If so I would like to show mine.
    http://www.ign.com/blogs/cyborghippo
I lost the contest, but I thought it was a nice and unique Vigor that some people would like to read, the only problem with my Vigor is that the Hummingbird wasn't Apollo's animal but changing it would've made it strange.

For favorite Vigor, based on gameplay footage it's most likely going to be Undertow and Murder of Crows. Undertow looks very interesting and unique, the arm looks disgusting and epic, and I feel like a Waterbender. Murder of Crows arm looks awesome and the Vigor looks like an amazing combination with Devil's Kiss, and I always liked Bee Swarm in Bioshock even though I never considered it that amazing, but better yet it seems like this is a big advancement from Bee Swarm.

I'm really interested to find out how this whole "Return to Sender" will work out...

I know it likes catches projectiles and can toss em back... but how much and what projectiles..

It seems (according to that combat presentation of Bioshock Infinite) Irrational Games has made it simple to switch in and out of various vigors on the fly and can basically have em all (stored and a quick access to switch em) although still can only have two active at a time...

so it doesn't seem like it will be like Bioshock 1 and 2 where there's more plasmids (vigors of course for Bioshock Infinite) that you can possible have active at a time till having to go to a Gene Bank to change em

Fly Swatter Gear - +50% damage dealt to enemies in mid-air (including those affected by Bucking Bronco).

Temporal Temptation Gear - Time momentarily slows down for enemies, but not for Booker, whenever Elizabeth opens a tear.

Marksman's Friend Gear - The first round in a new clip does 25% more damage.

Three-Toothed Vampire Gear - Melee attacks restore a small amount of Salt and executions restore a small amount of health, but overall salt and health capacity is reduced.

you can see it in the newest video they released. in that video you can see that you will be able to stop a motorized patriot's bullets and it seems to be a decent amount.

Are these confirmed Gears, or speculations/suggestions?
    ___________

Does anyone know which of the telekinesis Vigors will be used to wrest someone's weapon away from them, then shoot it (like in that 'old' trailer)? And what about getting an item from afar (same trailer, with the Murder of Crows Vigor Bottle)?

Do you guys think it will be Return to Sender, or Undertow?
    ___________

Watching the combat trailer... am I the only one who is surprised at how cheap (in Salts) Bucking Bronco is? It's looking like the best Vigor: no need to aim accurately, works on multiple enemies and is has a low Salts cost!

    Repost:

Hand of the Divine: The vein on your wrist swells up & bursts through the user's skin, sticking to whatever surface they point it at. It then spreads off into five other veins in the shape of a hand being held up with the palm facing outward and fingers separated, before each vein shoots out a sticky wall of fresh muscle and bone to connect to the other veins, forming a bloody wall of cover.

Advertisement: "Shield yourself from incoming fire! Charge it up to create a blast of kinetic force to knock back enemies in front of a freshly placed wall!"

Slogan: "Use Hand of the Divine! It's worth your Time!"

    Combines with:

Devil's Kiss: Shoots a volley of small fireballs from openings in the front of the shield.

Murder of Crows: Crows nest in the shield, bursting out to attack in a rage if an enemy gets close.

Shock Jockey: Shoots out a wave of electricity.
