An artbook and lithographs MUST be included in the collectors' edition. I also believe the murder of crows bottle should be included and a soundtrack. A T-shirt, a songbird figurine maybe, a postcard, and anything else worth putting on the wall, on a desk, or on the shelf anywhere.
A CE should never have clothing in it. There are just to many different sizes to use an average and hope it fits everybody.
I would like an artbook and a lithograph. Also a vigor bottle like the Murder of Crows would be awesome, given that all the vigor bottles look as cool as the Bucking Bronco and the Murder of Crows.
in the poll i have chosen "all in one kinda expensive edition" and now i confirm....
Art book, maybe a soundtrack, some kind of vigor, a collectible package that it all comes in, and maybe some poster replicas... if they get really fancy, maybe a weapon replica instead of a vigor?
The could have a printed Columbia exhibition guide pamphlet (wouldnt be too expensive) done in the style of the late 19th century (when Columbia was still a traveling showcase )
If they dont want a map that would/wouldnt match anything in the game then a listing of the various areas, shows and special exhibits.
Ticket stub for the Skyway ride...
An advertisement poster from the same period

I agree, I think that's an awesome idea. Something in the likes of actual items that would be in the game would be cool, like an old newspaper that could give us a bit more inside information about the game, or maybe even a code that we could access online. Similar to the Bioshock 2 website where you could read news articles, letters, etc. that let you delve further into the history of Rapture.
I think everyone wants a little something that feels like it came from Columbia. I mean when you play certain games it makes you feel like you're there; like the place actually exists. A piece of the world solidifies the fantasy that such a place exists.
Plain old memo-graph style matte paper reproduced tickets for the sky way would be perfect.
Here's what I think. In a redux. In the Collector's Edition of the front cover (I imagine Alex Ross doing the front cover and it should be an homage to the poster of Raiders of the Lost Ark). In the front cover is Booker holding the pistol on his left hand and electricity with his right hand ready to attack while Elizabeth behind him holding his arm, looking at the sky as she is scared as if the Songbird will come and take her to her place in the Founders location.
This is the poster I was talking about: http://www.impawards.com/1981/raider..._ark_ver2.html
And on the left side is a picture of Daisy Fitzroy with an evil smile on her face with the vox populi with the red paint on their faces and Comstock and strict look with the Founders with guns and pipes to attack and in the background there is a yellow eye which is the songbird. As we open the Murder of Crows bottle replica. There is the game, DVD/Blu-Ray on the making of the game interviews with Troy Baker, Courtnee Draper, Ken Levine, and some of the voice actors and crew as well about the making of Bioshock Infinite.
Also, a replica poster of the Songbird, Daisy Fitzroy, and Comstock and also a 1912 replica of the Security Zeppelin memo. Also, a replica newspaper Columbia Article about the riots between the Founders and the Vox Populi. And *drum roll please* the Sky-Hook toy to go along with it.

Interesting idea for a cover, still prefer something like the iconic Bioshock 1 cover but your idea has some good potential for a more action based cover.
I would love any sort of figurine and a vinyl soundtrack.
I wood LOVE to see an art booklet, a figurine of the new encountered "big daddy" things, or a figurine of a gun, or tonic injector. Added DLC (only for collector edition ppl) of more special guns and/or gene tonics etc. a sign of the new setting "welcome to.." high quality posters of all the ppl/things in the setting. Or a life size actual special weapon used in the game. Maybe more i can think of off the tops of my head lol.
Maybe... an exact model of Columbia. *drools*
That would be incredibly hard, I'd imagine.
Mainly because there isn't even a digital model of Columbia. Probably everything that IG built are levels for the player to play, there is no reason to build anything else.
I would lke to see bioshock 1 dlc like the cancelled zoo level.

Irrational can't exactly count on everyone owning BioShock, though, can they? DLC for it would be useless if they don't have the game.

You could have a 'tear' that opens and you walk into and you are there (should be nice and dark and drippy to contrast with Columbia). Have a bunch of splicers descending on you just as the 'tear' spits you out.....
If they have the assets data still, why not use them and save some money.... (actually the work to remassage the data into new data formats and choreographing the whole thing probably wouldnt save that much money - but would still make for a memorable 'Easter Egg').
I'm probably a bit late to the game here and I'm sure the collectors edition will have already been decided internally but here goes anyway..
I've decided that BioShock Infinite will be the first collectors edition I purchase. Why? Primarily because the BioShock series has such a brilliant and unique art style which I love. I want something collectable, something cool from the game, not a little plastic figure and definitely not something I'll wonder whether I want to spend probably £60+ on. I want to feel like I'm getting my moneys worth..
No, I'm not going to spend £60+ on a keyring or a few posters.
Someone know when Irrational Games will show the Collector's Edition of Bioshock Infinite?
ramsmeat said:Someone know when Irrational Games will show the Collector's Edition of Bioshock Infinite?
No.
A plastic Columbia 'floating building' (including the rediculus balloons holding it up ) and the caricature Zeppelin also to menace it (maybe it is just as cheap to have them done in pot metal in china as injected plastic....
I'd like to see something that's not necessarily from the game but something that feels as if it is. Something like the Uncharted 3: Explorer Edition that we got here in the UK, that was epic.
I would like something along the lines of a diary of some sort. Maybe Elizabeth's. It would double as an art book and it would tell of her time before Booker arrived. There would be the concept art along with the diary entries.
Really good case for keeping it all in. Maybe like the 'take arms' barrel from the gameplay demo.
A figurine of some sort. Not the songbird, handyman etc. because NECA will just do them later. Something unique. Maybe the bust of George Washington, the broken bell or the statue of the woman holding out her arms (I'm British so I don't know if she has any significance to the United States) Steelbook casing, posters, postcards, skyline ticket stubs, graphic novel etc. Some money from Columbia. Maybe a $5 with Comstock's face on it. Or some propaganda leaflets from Vox Populi or from the World's Fair. Lastly, the chain around the Murder of Crows bottle from the demo too.
I'd like it to be quite expensive so that you know you're paying for something good.
I would like to see a Songbird plushie :3
the crow bottle or maybe a really cool watch
i think they need to stop with the generic special editions no art books and behind the scenes you end up watching on youtube and the stupid soundtrack stuff! Make it rare and truely collectible srry but seeing the same thing you over payed for at release sitting in a store for half off isn't a collectible! Like the dead space there was 1,000 made period you didn't get it of well! Thats why you see a 150 collectible worth 10x that on ebay! I want some rare stuff and make it limited and expensive so the normal doosh bag can't just pony up 40$ more on the retail 60$ and think he's got a collectible srry it's not! Make it 150-200 and go out! or just do like RE6 and go crazy 1.300 PE which i bought 2 of becuase its collectible and true collectors know you gotta pay for the great stuff
Hopefully 2K will start taking preorders for the collectors edition soon, since I won't have access to the internet for about three months this summer.
I hope so flying fish. I can't believe the release is still 5 months away. Not wishing for a fast summer but I hope the time flies.
The artbook is a must in my opinion. Not a soft cover 10 pages crap like some games but a full blown hard cover goodness. Soundtrack but please no soundtrack redeem code, i hate that...it would be awesome for another vinyl if possible.
3 or 4 lithrograhs since i have alot of art prints of bioshock in my room, so some adittions would be nice, i agree that the bottle of crows would be a really good option but it was a press kit release so i dont see that happening. Maybe some game items, like diarys, books panflets from the game world, i dont know i just want a different collector edition not a hubber exclusive becouse if it was i wouldnt be able to afford it.
What I'd love to see:
Soundtrack
Book (maybe a journal from one of the character's perspectives, maybe a book on the history of Columbia written by someone from Columbia, etc.)
Art book!
Heavy Hitter figurines, Autographed Copy, PosterS, Artbook, and Soundtrack![]()
Heh - I have a Companion Cube plushy...and while totally different - I love this idea. It's somewhat disconcerting as a 30 year old man to say that - but I like the contrast.
I'll also add this: even though B2 did it, I absolutely adore vinyl soundtracks, especially since the music in the series has been amazing throughout and I expect more of the same awesomeness...I'd love that. Figurines and stuff don't do much for me though --
Soundtrack.
Art book.
Mini Boy of Silence.
If the one they did for Bioshock made them money (or even just broke even) they would probably do a 'concepts' book again (you can get real good deals having the books printed up in China these days to keep the costs down). The content would have been largely already done (recycling stuff they used while trying to figure out what was in the game) and various asset outtakes from stuff they will use in the game.
Quality is important. I rarely purchase the special collectors editions because the quality of the items included is usually shoddy.
Im hoping for a Statue, but good quality, 3D cut!
