    Bioshock Refund

after weeks of saving up for a new video card (an ati 2900xt HD) just to play this game on my pc ive givin up on it. i purchased your game through Steam and i cant even get the game to start (dreaded Biosshock.exe has stopped working), ive gone through every tech support person known to man and even the forums cant help or even a fresh format reinstall. either you people get off your asses and fix this ☺☺☺☺ or you better start giving ppl their hard earned money back for this POS game that doesnt even work properly. i need answers or tell me how i can get my money back.

    sorry you're having trouble.

my system meets or exceeds all the recommended specifications. i had the game installed and running in about 10 min. chances are its your system thats to blame, not the game.

do you have any problems with other games? what are your specs? why post here instead of the tech forum?

NO refunds are given on ANY Steam games period. All sales are final. This is Valve's policy, has been since day one. Its your own fault for not knowing this before hand. Its also your fault for not testing the provided demo before hand to see if the game works or not on your system. There is no way for Valve or 2K to confirm whether or not you are telling the truth or if you are just trying to rip them off for whatever reason, this is why there are such policies in place. Its too bad you are having problems, but keep asking the smart people on these forums for help. Or go to other forums and ask. While this forum is deticated to the game, there are many places for PC hardware and that may be a better approch.

You can refute the charge through your credit card company, however if you do valve will perminantly ban your steam account.

Is it just me who feels anyone with an issue gets asked their spec, just so they can be lumped in one of two categories?

    1. Your game crashes all the time because your computer is a bit slow (shouldn't the game just run slow?)

    2. Your problem is "something else"

People in the first category get crapped on so hard people in position number two have to fight for the ability to be seen on this forum.

People ask specs to make sure the people having problems should even be playing the game, it also helps to nail down the problem. Having issues with a dual-core AMD CPU, first thing to do is tell them to apply the timing fix and then go from there. Specs are always the base for helping with computer related problems.

specs do have a lot to do with it. in most cases.

i'm another meet-or-exceed, two installs, second one was the charm. it was because avg anti-virus picked up bioshock.exe as obfustat for a day, but then fixed it in their next update. it wouldn't run after i deleted it from the virus vault, so i had to reinstall. not the fault of 2k, but did cost me the second of five installs.

2k's silence is conspicuous, even 'this is the official word: we are working on it'. i haven't seen it once. maybe it's implied.. of course they are working on it, thats what they do. of course an update will come out... given a long enough timeline... aka asap, right? sheesh its been like three weeks. thats not a long time.

but as for all the tech support threads, i see questions being answered by a lot of competent people, 2k included.

now im rambling.. whatever. its easy to be a critic and hard to be an artist.

That is actually a common problem with the game on Steam. You need to consult the steam forums found at (http://steampowered.com).

Your hostility though won't get the answers you seek so when you are on those forums, play nice.
