This may sound stupid, but is it worth buying?

A lot of people bought BioShock solely because of how much they loved System Shock. Definitely a game worth checking out. It might feel like a step backwards from a technological standpoint. but if you're there for the story and objectives, it should be your cup of tea.

For me, graphics is simply secondary to storyline and plot. I'll definitely give this a look at then. Thanks

Yeah. Ensure you play during your evenings if at all possible. Also try to turn off all outside elements and turn your sound system up - or use quality headphones while you play. The audio is phenomenal.

i want to try this game to

You do that. Many people (not me) would argue that Bioshock is inferior to SS2. And many people (including me) would argue that SS2 improves on SS1, which is considered to be the 'best game evah'.

Curious I bought it the the other reason around. I loved Bioshock (precedently SWAT4 ) and I wanted to check SS2 out. Honestly I found it very challenging, sometimes tedious firstly. So I decided to store it away at least for a while.

After I finished Bioshock 2 (and i found out something was missing compared to the original) I gave SS2 another chance.

Whether you believe it or not I could finally get into the game system and I started focusing on the storyline and skill system.

Now I am more than a half way through and I cant say is boring or bad at all.

I rather say you need to accept what the tecnology was and you ll certainly love the game.

The twisting story is unique and full of emotional moments(fear and sickness prevail).

In a nutshell, give it a try and dont stop at the first tecnologically annoying issue.

I would say that you get the majority of the game's experience by the time you get to the Rickenbacker. It kinda starts to come apart at the seams not long after that but it's still fun. Fun generally tapers off in Body of the Many, especially with the jumping in the teeth, but at least the audio logs in there are kinda good. I wouldn't blame anyone for using the console to skip past that stage though.

I'm curious where you're buying it from...I've been looking for a decent price for awhile now (decent because I'm unsure how well it'll even run on my only system which is a bit more modern than would make a happy SS2).

I've never played this game either, and would like to. Where can I get it? I've tried all the usual suspects, Steam, and Impulse driven Wild tangent etc. And I don't see it for sale any place. Please don't tell me ebay is my only option.

I would like to see a different genre game in the Bioshock universe. Similar to what they did with Halo Wars.

i dont think that bioshock shoul tread down the path of halo, it started good, and it will end(or ended) with disaster, already its turning into something the toilet in your washroom wouldt accept.

Umm, are you talking about Bioshock or Halo?

    Never played it either...

Maybe I.G. could do what 343 is doing for the 10th Anniversary of Halo with a graphics overhaul and re-release? Food for thought?

How long has it been since SS2 release?

Honestly, I've lost count. But if I'm right, I think that it's been 15 years since the game.

Also, Irrational does not hold the rights of the development nor publishing of the System Shock IP.

So it's not possible. Oh well.
