Not to sound negative here, 'but'
A month and a half after release and over 1000 pages of problems from people dating back as far as the HOUR of release...
Why isnt there a patch yet?
Microsoft can patch 50 security holes in Vista the day after release....
Aug 21 -> Sept 14 = 25 days.
I'd say thats "close enough" to say a month.
Well its kinds of sad, I would of figure you guys would of came out with a patch by now...I work for one of the retailers that sold your game to the public and after reading and reading pages of all these issues with the game I tell my customer to do even do it to themselves because of all the issues you guys have with the games on top of all that I really feel sorry for the people that bought the game and can’t even play due to the issues there are have, my company stance on the issues with BioShock being returned due your this bug and issues is "Open items especially PC games are not returnable or exchangeable" Tell you one thing for sure I’ll never recommend a 2K game to anyone ever again and will make sure my staff does the same...

Right On! The only way these companies understand not to release BETA software to public is to hit them where it hurts....their pockets!
In the uk your company is breaking the law. thats a breach of trading standards law. If goods are not fit for purpose( they dont work with a pc that meets the requiered spec) then your company legally have to give the customer a refund. Im glad for the sake of game that it works fine on my or i would take them and 2k to the cleaners with trading standards. It is disgraceful that companies try to pull stuff like this all the time but the law is the law.
The sheer number of hardware and particularly software configurations make it literally impossible for a game to work on 100% of the PC's out there. Granted, there certainly are issues with the game as there are with any piece of commercially released software. It's important to realize that no software ever ships bug-free on the first go around. Quite frankly, a high majority of games are never entirely rid of bugs. This is due to the multitude of ways a player can interact with the game environment, it's enemies, and the like.
That said, I can't help but think that a number of the issues reported here are hardware or software configuration related. I'm not saying that this is the case in all circumstances, but it is always a possibility. Before turning their guns on the game developer/publisher, I think individuals need to be proactive in solving their own issues to some degree. To that end, I have created a guide that should assist folks in doing just that. This guide can be found here:

Although those who post here about their in-game issues are quite vocal in doing so, I'm fairly certain that the majority of people who bought the game are able to install and play just fine. Personally, I have the game running on two computers that are quite different in regards to hardware and performance. Nevertheless, I have not experienced one crash nor came across any game-breaking bugs. To the contrary, BioShock seems to be one of the most polished PC games I've ever played.

For now i think this thread needs to be locked, its going off topic into more of a flame war.
