Hi Everyone!
A while ago I purchased Freedom Force vs 3rd Reich,
distributed by Digital Jesters in the Uk.
Some time ago I tried to install it on my PC.
Unfortunately when I inserted the 2nd CD I received
following error message: Error 1334 and that
resource1.dat cannot be found in cabinet file
Data11.cab. The message suggested it to be a network
error, a reading error or a problem with the
package.
I immediately searched the Internet and discovered
that Digital Jesters had gone bankrupt and no forum
existed for the game on the Irrational webpage until now..., and 2k Boston never replied my
inquiry.
I wonder if anyone can help me out with the technical problem, if there is a chance I can fix it myself,
or if I really would have to buy it again
All the Best
Holger

Error 1334... the generic error that means Windows is basically saying "Gee, I don't really know what happened". Usually that error is caused by some kind of problem reading data from the disk, most likely due to dirt or damage on the disk. First thing I would do is check the disk for any visible flaws and clean it. If the error continues to occur, then try copying the contents of the disk to a directory on your hard drive and when the installer asks for the disk, point it at that directory instead of the disk drive.

A fan forum but thee people know the game inside and out, I'm sure they can help you.

Thanks both of you for your help. Indeed it seems that there are some minor flaws on the disk, I guess it happened for some strange reason when I tried to install it first on a laptop. I could copy the disk without problem onto another Cd and onto my hard drive, but same error message appeared during installation attempt. Will try to clean it, and/or check out the other forum.

Ummm...what system are you trying to run this game on?
FF vs. TTR is StarForce-protected (DRM) on the disc retail version - at least in the USA here. I can't speak for the UK version.
It is a known issue that (older) StarForce-protected games just don't get along w/ Win Vista and Win 7 too well. If you are trying to get this game going on Vista or 7, this could be your problem.

I need some technical help as well, so I'm just going to add to the list, if you don't mind...
Last year I brought FFvTTR and it worked on my PC, but when I moved to Uni I bought myself a laptop, the original FF works, but this one doesn't however.
It keeps telling me that to install it I need administrator privileges... but I am an administrator and it won't play, am I just being really stupid or is there a knack to it?
I've already uninstalled it and reinstalled it, AND I made a seperate Admin account and installed it on that too just to make sure, and it still didn't work.
Is using Vista Home Premium an issue?
I can't even run it in compatibility mode!
Can anybody give me a hand?
