Ok, Bioshock rocks and i love Rapture but, seriously, i love more Freedom Force and specially El Diablo (her fabulous accent). With new techology, Freedom Force will be a great game. Ok, i understand, its difficult to sell in a era of Call of Duty-like, but i hope...

People may disagree with me on this, but I don't think a third FF game needs a technology upgrade at all. Considering the primitive (for lack of a better word) Jack Kirby-esque art style the previous games had (and any sequel needs to keep) and the rock-solid gameplay mechanics, why would they need to update it at all? Not only would it still look just as good, it would be very inexpensive to produce and the fans of the series would absolutely love it.

It's possibly that there will be a Freedom force 3, though I doubt IG will work on it. Maybe a third-party developer will try.

    Try this :

"OK, Bioshock rocks and I love Rapture but, seriously, I love Freedom Force more and specially El Diablo (his fabulous accent) With new technology, Freedom Force could be a great game. OK, I understand that it's must be hard to sell it in a Call-Of-Duty's era, but I hope..."

No seriously, I must agree !

And now, even if it's not likely, Irrationnal can write "By the creator of Bioshock" on the box and make sure that the game make good sell.

I would love a third FF! This game has meant a lot to me and I've recently started working on a mod that picks up where FFVTR left off.

Ditto what freedomforce3 said, however I would also want a return to scalable powers (i.e. over/under powering; not having everything cost either 33/66/100 points to cast etc...)

I don't know why we couldn't see a Freedom Force game get the time capsule experience. A bunch of old heroes thrown into the modern world. I'd just love to see what Irrational could do with their original IP after these many years of growth and experience.

I've no doubt they could convince me that any choices made for Freedom Force 3 were necessary.

If another freedom force was created I would not be surprised to see it converted into a first person action game. They have been using Unreal Engine and it is idea for first person games as well as first person games have been all the rage lately so it would help with marketing.

I think it would continue in pursuance of first and second FF game. So the history will be continue in "normal" form and game.

So in my opinion we need a game that is the same as the previous ones (RPG)

Wow...you didn't have to be rude. It is people like you there isn't more user generated content for FF.

BTW you will be waiting forever for a FF3 so have fun with that nimrod.

A third game would be the ticket...but if the folks at IG decided to release the rest of the "new" materials from FFVSTR that would open a bunch of new avenues for creators that STILL work on FF related material. Too bad somebody (AfhanAnt...cough...cough) is all retired and won't be putting out what woulda been an awesome mod.

God I hope not! They have the right set up. This type of game IMO won't translate "AT ALL" in first person.

Oh man, AA... I do not hang out around the FR boards enough... That looks awesome. So awesome.

I need to get my CD drive fixed so I can get back to actually playing this game again.

Yes...this mod does look freakin awesome...it too bad that AA's not gonna finish it. He just had to and get himself a "real" job.

@freedomforce3 : Maybe you should check out some of those "USER" mods if you haven't already cause a lot of 'em are really cool. It's just sounds like your statement was trashing user mods (hopefully that wasn't your intention) and really thats what the game is for...that's what made it special. It's complete modability is one of the things that makes this game so unique.

In their last interview with IGN (great interview by the way), it seems like they were considering it. Not sure though.

On page 5, Ken Levine said :

I don't think, to be fair, it was ever a great multiplayer game. I think it was just the limitation of the type of game it is. That's why Ultimate Freedom Force was a direct control game, where you actually controlled a single character. I think co-op would have been really fun in that game, but I don't think the nature of Freedom Force worked great as a multiplayer game.

As much as i like the setup they already made for the first two games. I have doubts that Irrational will be willing to go that route again if ever they do decide to push through with a Freedom Force 3.

On page 6, Ken Levine said:

......I like sequels that feel really different than the predecessor. I think that was one of the problems with 3rd Reich…it didn't feel like an event, because the tech and gameplay was too similar.

It is possible that they have a sales pitch made similar to Bioshock though.

    On page 3, Robb Waters:

Well, actually I was very disappointed that Three never got off the ground, because I had all those guys drawn up and all of the villains and ideas for plots and this and that.......Well, again, personally, my favorite era of comics was the Bronze Age, so I really enjoyed doing all of the Freedom Force 3 characters, but besides the little that we've trickled out to you, the rest won't see the light of day! (laughs)

Also on page 3, Ken Levine said:

Yeah, the Ultimate Freedom Force, which was just a working title, was definitely that. The idea was definitely to make it more hard edged. We went back and forth – we had something that was very colorful and something that was very hard edged, but I think the idea was to make it much more modern feeling. That was a game actually that we had a buyer for, and we ended up deciding whether we were doing BioShock or that, and we ended up doing BioShock.

I wonder who the buyer was for Freedom Force 3 though and what happened to them.

AA, I was really sorry to see your mod project stopped, it seemed to have alot of potential, and I think that user-made mods are part of what makes the Freedom Force games so special.

If I had a million dollars, I would personally hire Irrational to create a third Freedom Force....seeing as I'm a teacher, however, I'll have to content myself with the awesome mods the FF community creates, and with expressing to Ken Levine and the rest of the team here just how incredible their game is. I do hope you one day get a chance to revisit this setting and these characters. I'm one of those who bought the FF comic because I loved the characters that y'all had created so very much. In the meantime, I'll eagerly await whatever is next from Irrational.

However, the FF community has created some tales that continue the adventures of this beloved crew. Check out Patriot City Tales:

There was an FF comic? Crap, how'd I miss that one? Now that I have 'A' computer again, I can't wait to play these expansion mods. There are alot of talented people in our community that contribute greatly to the continued play of FF. But I would still like to see a third game to the series, I would would defenitely purchase it.

A co-op Freedom Force with character creation, power modification/customization would be a thing of beauty. I'm a console guy now (don't have the money to keep a computer up to snuff for gaming) so an Xbox release would be nice.
