Def the mannequins... or the part where you find the shotgun and the lights turn off.

You do know that if you wait enough, he's going to attack you, right? Although you might think that he won't do you any harm. Who would've expected that?

Those freaking plaster splicers scared the ever-loving crap outta me when I was down in flooded basement room in Poseidon Plaza.

I remember thinking, "... That wasn't there before."

In the men's bathroom at Fort Frolic there where three statues posed like an creepy artist would have them posed, the floor was all water, and there was a light behind them that made them seem more intense then usual statues. I turned the corner saw that and turned around, I was having nothing to do with that room.

Also in Sander Cohen's room at Olympus Heights there were two splicers, one male and one female dancing to that song (you know which one). They were talking to each other and having a real good time like normal human beings. I probably watched them for 5 or 10 minutes have mixed emotions but mostly feeling sad that I was running around killing all of them, and surprised that the Irrational even put something like this in. It gave the game a new feeling this one, optional moment that most wouldn't experience. I looted his room and left them to there peace. This may have been one of my favorite and most emotional moments in any video game.

I agree, this was horrifying, specialy when you are down in the flooded room, it was the odd sudden fear , you saw the statue suddenly behind you , and there is a split second of when they attack, but its like some kinda gut wrenching "oh crap im being haunted" feeling

i hate it when you go through some rooms then reach a dead end. and on your way back you notice bodies and things that werent there at first.

    but mostly the plaster splicers

My most scared moment in a Bioshock game was I was nearing the end of Minervas Den DLC on hard and had very little life. I wanted to get the last little sister before I left to the next area, but Im low on money and ammo due to Hard Difficulty and saving for something you can buy that gets you to a secret room. Anyways, I walking around in an area where Ive killed everything listening and looking for Little Sisters, when suddenly my screen turns red and in my face is a Delta class Big Daddy who literally out of no where charged me. I luckily killed him but because of it didnt have enough ammo to take on the Little Sister's Big Daddy. I got a good jump out of that one.

This wasnt too bad for me cause I learned to point my gun at them, if it turns red, its an actual enemy. But before you know that....yes, scary as hell.

A moment in the second one when I was coming down the stairs and I could hear a male splicer. He sounded far off, so I turned towards where I thought he was to take aim, only to have him run up behind me and smash me in the back. Scared the hell out of me.

In the first Bioshock was the cut scene of Dr. Steinman, while he dismembered the girl and also one of the audiovox where you can listen the nurse screaming : "Dr. Steinman!? Enough! It's Enough!" while Steinman whistles. But another horrible situation appears while you chill arround in Sander Cohen's theater and you find one of his "Creations" : a table with a family all masked, all in plaster, that was insane.

In Bioshock 2 creepiest moments for me are the one when you get in the Orphanage of Little Sisters in Siren Alley, fistable cause when you enter there the paintings of the Little Sisters with flowers and everything happy, after you arrive at the bottom of the area and make you way to go out, all the paintings become sad with horrible face and bad references. Another creppy moment was in Pauper's Drop when you try to find the way to get to Grace Holloway, with all stange ambushes by Splicers. And of course all about the last part with Persephone area.

But anyway, mostly everything in BioShock is about Mankind, and I Love It. =D

Fort Frolic is definitely my favorite level for all its creeptasticness. Seriously, if Bioshock is the Mona Lisa as a whole, Fort Frolic is her smile.

Totaly going along with u mate!

For example the moment u set in the 3rd picture (if i remember correct) and suddenly this classic dance music starts and splicers run at u from every corner and then u fight with this Music in the Background...just creepy...and awesome...perfect!^^

If your going for scary, the guy in medical after the fog lifts, creepy would be when you find Stinemen in the operating room, that was one of the best/creepiest line readings of all time, movie or game.

I would have to say when you see the medical splicer behind you right after

you pick up that tonic in Medical I can't remember what the tonic was though

That was the first time I ever "jumped" during BioShock. Pretty great.

I don't think it was creepy but it scared the living day lights out of me when you turn the corner in Arcadia and there is the flame turret nearly pissed myself...

  21. #61

In Bioshock 1 there were many. There was no one specific event but mainly...I'd be walking down a random hallway in a random level (as this happened multiple times) and it would be near silent. And then all of a sudden a splicer would say something or I couldn't find my way (if the arrow wasn't pointing me around). I'd literally freak out and get an anxiety attack and turn off the console. I'm not a fan of dark empty hallways where all you can see is the light at the end, but not the actual hallway sides (if that makes sense)

  22. #62

I think I'm kinda going to miss that atmosphere in infinite I mean they said there would be some inside areas that are dark and haunting but it still might not be the same. But I mean its a new setting so new standards.

it was ☺☺☺☺ing creepy when i first mat big DADDY

  24. #64

Wow it would have really been creepy if you'd found a mat and used telekinesis to throw it at him. It would have just made him even angrier. Big Daddy in manga style comic strip: stops mid charge what the hell you throw a mat at me. No hey lets throw the turret or even a coffin but no you throw the bloody door mat from dandy dental. Sheesh I gotta get myself another gig.

Creepiest moment was in Medical, when you are wading through the water and you see the shadow of a splicer cutting someone open. The lights go out and when they come back on he dissapeared. When you walk around the edge he pops out of one of the containers for the bodies. Scared the $#!^ out of me.

  27. Yup, it's probably the first few minutes of the game where you are expecting the spider splicer to attack you.

I'd agree there. You're so damn on edge that after you exit the bathysphere, you turn around and around trying to catch them splicing creeps. I remember just jumping at shadows.

Ha, me too, there are a couple of games that make me jump out of my seat, dead space among those, I like those moments, that's when you realize that you are playing a good game, and even better if the game is only starting.

The first time i had to get out of the bathosphere was creepy, that and all the dead cats

  32. #72

When Cohen has a sort of mental break down and sets Splicers on you, then Waltz of the Flowers starts playing.

It's such an odd and creepy experience but it's what made me sit back and go "This game is amazing."

The creepiest moment of Bioshock for me and the most wonderful.

  33. When I walked into the medical pavilion. found the secret room via window. it went all foggy. heard footsteps. fog faded. dead body just in the room. move further in. same thing. turn around. GUY RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!

Good question. There are a lot of creepy moments.

The first one that got me is when you're coming up in the Bathyspher and you see this crazy splicer killing this guy then trys to get to you. It's just one after another.

I believe when you're about to leave the Medical Ward you get trapped in that area before the door unlocks and all these splicers surround you and try to break in. That was pretty creepy.

Sander Cohen!! He was creepy in a good way if that makes sense.

When you're looking for the Doctor in the Dandy Dentist I think. You see the shadow but the lights cut out and then there is no one there. CREEPY!!

I can't remember the guys name, but the Doctor that was trying to make the beatiful person or something like that.

'In Medical, when you first grab the shotgun and the lights go out, and Splicers start rushing you from the dark.'

That is a pure frantic moment of survival. In hind-sight, everyone should of expected that as an ambush sight being in the middle of a room with multiple corridors leading into it, but I forgot.

Just having those people come up and try to wack you over the head while you couldn't tell which direction it was comming from is nuts.

It reminds me of that scene in Resistance 2 with the huge monster that attacks you in the city.

carleyquinn said:When you first step out of the bathysphere to go after the spider splicer in the very beginning of the game, if you dawdle she starts singing "If I Didn't Care" by The Ink Spots. It was so chilling, I can't get it out of my head sometimes.

Definatley, this is where you knew you were heading into a game full of this sort of thing and so for me I couldnt help but go into different rooms with baby steps. And also everything that everybody else has already said didnt just look creepy to me but also made me ☺☺☺☺ myself.

I thought it was girl too, and they were just testing out the mind control program on another subject. Now that you bring that up I need to go hear that audio diary again.
